The peak of Pink Perfection.

Warboys Cambridgeshire

A most lovely hotel set in a very pretty garden and the ideal place for a wonderful afternoon tea to celebrate a birthday. We booked for 1.30 and were seated inside as it was a very hot day.very promptly menus were given us and a good explanation of what was expected of us. Many different teas from which to choose and savoury sandwiches and fancy cakes with scones were served on a three tier cake stand.Absolutely super and then there was the desert table where we helped ourselves, more than once too.A little gift in a pretty box was given as a memento of a great experience.

Beautiful Old Dame, but needs a little TLC

Washington DC, District of Columbia

Stayed there for 3 nights and booked two rooms. The rooms where in the wing overlooking the heated pool and above the breakfast area. Beautiful rooms and the decor (nice touch with the colorful matching pillows and drapery) was lovely. Pros: -Great breakfast included in our rate including good variety in the buffet plus ala carte menu that we could order from for no charge. -Great afternoon tea. -Nice heated pool (not sure if the other pool by the villas was heated). -Beautifully decorated rooms and bathroom. -Good service from the moment you arrive to when you leave. Cons: -Because it’s an older hotel, it can feel a bit like a maze at times getting to/from the room to the main lobby and then to the parking garage. -Some parts of the hotels exterior and hallways need some sprucing up and TLC. Seems like only certain areas are maintained to a certain 5 star standard. -While breakfast was great, please do arrive early. Seems like they cater to a lot of business or tour groups and it can be hard to find seating at certain times. -There was a mixup with our reservation as I was mistaken for another guest that was part of a tour group (I guess our passport pics were similar :-)). I kept being referred to as that guest by the hotel staff even after making the correction and sorting out our reservation (all staff were lovely and tried to be helpful). On our last day, the hotel front staff even called me over because “my travel/tour agent” wanted to meet with me, which led to more time spent explaining the mix up in identities. -There was an ant issue in our bathroom as it had rained off and on for a couple of days during our stay. The hotel staff had someone to deal with the ants but when we came back to the room, there were still dead ants left visible in the shower area. Ants came back the next day in the shower area and we dealt with them ourselves. -We received a tremendous deal for our stay that was well under half what the hotel was charging so we thought it was a wonderful stay. However, had we paid the normal rate, I do not believe we would have picked this hotel or at least been a little disappointed with some areas of the hotels upkeep in comparison to other 5 star hotels with similar rates.
