Cosmopolitan city meets romantic island escape
Singapore is without doubt one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world. With its ultra -modern streets, colonial monuments and nearby Sentosa – home to Universal Studios, this glistening metropolis has it all. Shopaholics will love the mesmerising number of malls along Orchard Road, while younger visitors will be fascinated by the night safari and zoo. Add to this the Singapore Flyer and the iconic Raffles Hotel and you’re only just scratching the surface of this spectacular city-state.
However, if you can’t decide between a city break and a relaxing beach escape, a short two hour flight to the idyllic Indonesian island of Bali should be just what you’re looking for. Encircled by turquoise waters, Bali’s laid back atmosphere and dreamy sunsets are perfect for the romantic at heart. The island offers a variety of different beach resorts, from the luxurious gated development of Nusa Dua, to traditional Sanur where small hotels are scattered along the sandy shores. Head further inland to Ubud and you will discover lush rice terraces, ancient temples and thriving arts and crafts communities. Bali is the ultimate place to relax and unwind and with regular flight connections from Singapore, it’s never been easier to experience both destinations in one holiday.

Itinerary Breakdown
Begin your journey in cosmopolitan Singapore, despite its size this tiny city-state certainly packs a lot in. We recommend spending three nights here to really get a feel for the destination and to allow enough time to experience some of the key attractions. Singapore is famous for its shopping and the malls of Orchard Road should definitely be on your hit list if you're looking for well known labels. However, we also suggest exploring the districts of Little India and Chinatown where you can find some more authentic gifts including beautiful saris and aromatic spices. On a sunny day why not take a ride on the Singapore Flyer, the world’s largest observation wheel and enjoy panoramic views of the Marina Bay and beyond?
Points of Interest
A peaceful and romantic tropical island, Bali is the dream location for relaxing beach days, delicious Indonesian cuisine and fascinating culture. It would be easy to spend a week lazing on the beaches, exploring the local shops and restaurants or indulging in a spa treatment or two, but there is so much more to this dream destination. Head north to Ubud, the cultural heart of the island and discover thriving arts and crafts communities, the sacred monkey forest and lush rice terraces. Alternatively take a three day trip to the nearby Gili Islands. These undeveloped retreats are snorkelling and diving heaven, and Gili Trawangan hosts weekly parties and a scattering of beach bars. We recommend spending at least a week here to fully relax and unwind after your Singapore city break.
