Great but also feel ripped-off due to extortionate extra costs.

Stay was great overall (emergency switched from Raffles, which felt like a run down dump) but a couple of things really soured it for me. THE GOOD: - Beautiful Island - Great Butler / GEM (Sam) / Excellent Activity Guides (Jean-Michel) - Full Board really does include almost everything. THE BAD: Unexpected costs, that were never explained: - My girlfriend Trudie and I had an evening meal in the wine cellar. Menu in room listed this as 3000 Rupees each. After the meal I was billed 12000 Rupees which is insanely priced. Apparently I had also chosen to have a Wine Pairing (which is basically a guy who comes in every 5 min to show you some wine and is not worth the equivalent of 350 Euros). This was not AT ALL clear to me or my girlfriend, not listed anywhere, not clearly explained by GEM Sam and a complete waste of money. Really annoyed me for that day and the day after. - There was a stuffed toy in the room with a handwritten note underneath saying "make this little guy a new home". My girlfriend thought this was cute and packed it in with her. On checkout suddenly I'm billed £54 for that toy. No pricing on the toy in the room or otherwise. Spoiled the helicopter home for me as once again seriously annoyed me. If you stay, make sure you take full board, the food is ridiculously expensive, easily £120 for 2 for breakfast. £50 steaks etc. Same goes for drinks. I did enjoy the 4 days there, almost as much as Maia Resort. But only felt got 2 relaxing days as these costs really feel like I had been ripped off. So unnecessary when paying that much already.

A week in paradise !

Brussels, Belgium

The Six Senses Zil Pasyon on Félicité/Seychelles is a paradise on earth. We have just spent a week there and everything was perfect. We took the direct flight from Paris and were picked-up at our arrival in Mahé to then take the helicopter which brought us in less than 30min to our lodge. A great start of the day and much pleasure at flying over a few beautiful islands. We were immediately welcomed by Martin, our “Guest Experience Manager” who brought us to our villa. The villa has a great design, is very spacious and has all the facilities one can dream of. The private swimming pool is large enough and has a perfect warm temperature. The terrace is well equipped and is also large. The view is gorgeous. The lodge has three beaches and our preferred one is about 150m long with typical Seychelles rocks at both ends. The hotel staff was remarkably caring. Almost all felt responsible to make our life as easy and pleasurable as possible. A special thank you to Mokul who ensured a perfect upkeep of our villa. Buggies were quickly available on demand. A few of the drivers were exceptionally friendly, among them, we would like to thank Anil. The pathways - somewhat hilly - between the villas and to the main compound are scenic with luxurious vegetation, awesome granit rocks and views on the ocean with all the turquoise colour tones. At night, the beauty of the sky full of stars is replacing the one of the sea. Really stunning. There are two restaurants facing each other and both offer fantastic meals. We have continuously been impressed by the quality of the food. We ate Indian, Thai, Creole, BBQ,... Each and every dish was cooked to perfection. The quality of the ingredients was striking too (real Kobe Wagyu, delicious burrata, fresh vegetables,...). The breakfast was very flexible and the egg specialities with all required sides were really tasty. The waiters were all very kind (thank you Thien, Indika,...). The hotel produces its own drinking water which seemed like the most eco sensible solution we have ever seen (we visited their small desalination plant). The hotel offers material for sport activities at “the experience”. Great kayak, archery,... Here again, the whole team was very friendly and caring. Thank you. We took a kayak to the tiny inhabited Coco island which offered a unique snorkelling experience with many colourful fishes. We also took the opportunity to use the hotel’s boat to visit the neighbouring La Digue island where we spent a great day on bikes to see other incredibly beautiful beaches. We used the hotel spa several times. It is located between huge granit stones and it’s access is an experience in itself. The holistic massage performed by skilful experts were really relaxing. We also thank them for their kindness (Jill, Ani(?)). The final words would be to thank our GEM Martin for his care, his constant great mood, his subtil sense of humour,... He is a wonderful person. The managers we had the opportunity to get to know, were both extremely caring. They followed up well on requests or feedback. We thank everyone for having made of this week a wonderful one. A week in paradise.
