Absolutely fantastic stay!

We did not expect half of what we experienced. For us the highlights were: - Nhi bringing her natural politeness with simple and open communication guiding us through the whole sta, - delicious food, and this is an understatement, - flawless villa quality, - staff helpfulness at any moment, - calmness and size of the walking area, - planned experiences every day (hike with views and stories on Felicite, visit to la Digue island, etc.) - the gyyyyyym is fantastic! - the whole sunrise helicopter experience with 5 people waving good buy at 6:30am was surprisingly amazing! We enjoyed our stay so much, that it is difficult to put words on what we feel. But for sure we would like to say THANK YOU to the entire team for making our honeymoon filled with so many beautiful memories!

Six Senses for the Soul

I've put off writing this review because my mere words cannot adequately describe how much we truly, deeply fell in love with Six Senses Zils Pasyon. Yes, it meets all the needs of the traveler looking for exclusivity, luxury, and unapologetic pampering. But more than that, it's a place that seeps into your soul, that refreshes, reenergizes, and that calls you to come back. I had entered the point of analysis paralysis in deciding where to stay while in the Seychelles. My husband and I were traveling with our 9 month old son, and as any mother traveling so far from home, I was filled with excitement, and moreso, nerves. I scoured reviews for the terms "baby", "babysitting", and "child" to see which of the five star locations would be best for our little trio. Funnily, 'baby turtle' popped up more frequently than baby ;o). I had eventually narrowed it down to Six Senses and the Four Seasons. We had several different friends who had stayed at each resort, but none who had stayed at both. What eventually won me over to stay at the Six Senses, was a lovely and reassuring conversation I had with the General Manager, Hilton. As a mom traveling 5500 miles away from home with a baby, I had a few questions and the Six Senses team very kindly put me in touch with Hilton. As a father of two young girls, he quickly put my mind at ease and I could tell from our conversation that he had a firm grasp on all operations, and most importantly, understood the needs and vulnerabilities of a family traveling with young kids. We hummed and hawed for a while over whether to do the heli transfer, and ultimately decided that the convenience of it was too appealing to pass up. You can basically transfer one of three ways 1) heli; 2) domestic flight to praslin and then a boat ride (cost of the plane +180 euros for one way boat); or 3) ferry from Mahe to Praslin, boat transfer from Praslin to Felicite Island. With a baby, we instantly ruled out the third option, then weighed the cost / benefit of the other two and ultimately chose the heli. If it's within the realm of financial reason, definitely choose the helicopter! It's a beautiful, 20 minute flight and it is incredibly convenient. A few thoughts - 1) in villa dining - this option is clutch when traveling with a baby and can be done for any / all meals. It’s particularly great during midday nap time when you stay in, soak in your private pool, and eat a delicious meal; 2) get the heli transfer ...seems expensive but well worth it, especially with kids!; 3) with kids ask for a room closer / within walking distance to the main area - we found this very helpful instead of waiting for a buggy every time we needed to go somewhere; 4) get all inclusive if you can - sometimes they have specials that include this, and it’s well worth it - the wine and drinks offered in this package are top notch!; 5) Penny, the head of the kids club, is fantastic, as are the other babysitters there; 6) the rooms here blow away the four seasons, in my opinion :) Now vs the Four Seasons - The FS mahe is beautiful but feels like a super high end, white glove service, resort. I preferred the more barefoot luxury aspect of SS. I travel with andBeyond quite often Throughout Africa and if you’ve ever traveled with them the six senses feels very similar. The rooms at SS are also nicer, more spacious, and have more of an eco beach feel “to be lived in” versus a “don’t mess anything up” feel. And the walk in closet is amazing as a large quiet, dark place to put your baby/kids for naps and nighttime sleep. The food at both locations is good - FS has more dining options but SS has more variety on the menu. Activity wise, FS has more options being on Mahe. When we travel to the Seychelles again, I’ll opt for SS! All in all... Book it. Now. Take the plunge. You won’t regret it.
