Trip highlights

Upon arrival in Kigali you will be met and transferred to the Virunga Conservation Area, where the rest of the day is at your leisure. Settle in, explore the area, and visit the local markets and villages for souvenirs.

Following breakfast you'll receive a briefing by the Volcanoes National Park guides on how to behave in the forest and in the presence of mountain gorillas. Enter the park for an unforgettable gorilla trekking experience, often described as the most profound natural history experience in the world. Make sure to take plenty of water and a good camera. It can rain at a few minutes notice, so waterproof clothing is a good essential, (not forgetting zip lock bags or cases for cameras and film).

After the trek, lunch will be served at your hotel where you will spend the night.

Today you'll be visiting the sobering Genocide Museum to learn about Rwanda's tumultuous past, followed by a transfer to Kigali Airport to connect for your onward flight.
