A stunning phenomenon, Cirque de Cilaos is jagged peaks, deep ravines and swirling cloud, making for the ultimate natural wonderland, here you can conquer over 400 winding bends to reach the Cilaos peak.

This dramatic landscape brings visitors in their thousands each year, as they twist and turn throughout the cirque's roads and tunnels. The nail-biting journey is worth it for the colourful flowers, indigenous forests and breathtaking waterfalls that will meet you at the top.

Canyoning is hugely popular here: as is rock climbing and mountain biking for those after an adrenaline rush. If you'd rather take it easy, find a hiking trail to follow and walk past stunning falls and stop at the village of Cilaos to sample some of the local wine.
