Quebec's Festivals

Québec’s cities host over a hundred festivals per year, most packed into the sweltering summer months. Montréal is known as the city of festivals and is home to some of the big players on the international festival scene, including the world’s biggest comedy and jazz festivals. Visit at the end of June to catch the cream of the comedy world at Just for Laughs or hear world-class musicians at the International Jazz Festival.

And the party doesn’t stop with the summer. Despite the biting cold, two of Québec ’s most popular festivals are held in the winter. Put on your cold-weather gear and enjoy a whole host of activities at Montréal’s Nuit Blanche, where the city buzzes throughout the night with music and art, or see the stunning snow sculptures at Québec City’s Winter Carnival, another festival that takes the title of the world’s largest.
