Some of the best activities on the island involve swimming in the clear blue waters of the Magpupungko natural rock pools, or kayaking across the glimmering waters of the scenic Del Carmen Mangrove Reserve through a forest of green.

Surf’s Up in Siargao

Siargao boasts the best waves in the Philippines, and the island welcomes surfers from all over the globe. Cloud 9 is the most famous wave in the country, and keen surfers flock to the popular surfing area to attempt to ride the ultimate swell and achieve that surfer’s crown of glory. Whether you’ve never attempted surfing before or you’re a pro on the waves, Siargao is the perfect spot to hit the swell. There are plenty of classes for complete beginners, and experts can bring their boards. However it’s easy to rent one from one of the many surfing shacks dotted along the beaches.

If you prefer a laid-back holiday in the sun, there’s plenty for you in Siarago. Spend your days on white sandy beaches as you listen to the waves lap the shore, fruity cocktail in hand.
