Contemporary and stylish with a fun atmosphere

Located on the tropical island of Cebu, the Movenpick Hotel Mactan combines comtemporary style with a fun and fresh atomsphere. Relax by the pool or on the hotel's own stretch of beach, or why not indulge with a treatment at Spa Del Mar. At the end of the hotels' marina you will find the Ibiza Beach Club which offers music, dining and a variety of entertainment including DJ sets and Latin dance performances - the ideal place to spend your evenings. Guest rooms are light and airy with white walls and splashes of colour, we recommend upgrading to ocean view rooms and requesting a higher floor for the best views out to sea.

  • Trendy Ibiza Beach Club
  • Private stretch of beach
  • 10 minutes from the airport
  • The best ocean view of Mactan Cebu

Great customer service! Clean rooms, Wi-Fi is awesome and food is amazing! We stayed in the family suite and the view from our room was breathtaking. The private beach is beautiful. Went paddle boarding with my daughter and saw fishes swimming close to the shore. After our swim, had our friends by the pool. The staff is so accommodating. I specifically appreciate Gretchen for helping us get settled. She's amazing!

A peacefull getaway

We visited Movenpick Mactan the week before Christmas. It wasn't too crowded at the hotel, with the exception of the excellent breakfast--I recommend taking a quick look at the chart at the restaurant's entrance to gauge busy times. the beach is nice, the water was pleasant and clear enough to see a fair variety of fish in the bits of coral within the secluded private swimming bay. The rooms had a suitably island feel and the staff are great. There is an onsite travel agency that helped us book a day trip. We also went into Cebu City one afternoon to shop for a bathing suit. We had a VERY difficult time getting back to the hotel. It seems there were two problems. The first is that there were taxis around, but not many. Getting one to stop was nearly impossible. When one finally did, they drove off upon hearing where we were staying. The gentleman who finally took us back out to the hotel told me it's difficult to get fares back into town, so I paid him extra. To emphasize my point, it took a bit over two hours to get a taxi. If we visit again I'll arrange a ride back to the hotel ahead of time. We did really enjoy our time at the Movenpick. I recommend taking a walk down the road away from the hotel. The area seems quite impoverished, but the many people out and about were very friendly, offering many hellos and smiles. I had some street food, petted some puppies, and watched kids playing a pick up basketball game. I took three such walks, and enjoyed each. The only negative I would say about the hotel is that it is overpriced. At check-in they attempted to up-sell me on the 'executive lounge'. To be blunt, they use a term that other hotels such as Marriott use, but this lounge had only a few hors d'oeuvres on offer next to the free booze. The up-sell also included a truly very good buffet breakfast with a wide variety of foods, but all-in-all not worth the huge price per day they charged for it. I would say they should be embarrassed by this, but you must be aware of one other thing: At this hotel you are a captive audience. There are no cafes within walking distance, so it's either bring your own breakfast or be extorted. You've been warned. In spite of this I would actually consider returning. The weather, the beach, and the food were all good enough that because of its easy access from where I live, it's a good destination and hotel for a relaxing break.
