Home to sprawling white sand beaches and warm clear waters, Boracay holidays take you to one of the Philippines’ most popular tourist destinations. Once you set foot on the fine pale sands of White Beach, you’ll see why.
Boracay is the ultimate island getaway for those seeking a dreamy holiday of sand, sea and sun. Whether you want to spend your days lazing around on the powdery beaches or you prefer a trip full of activities and adventure, a holiday in Boracay caters to all tastes. This makes the island an ideal destination for families and large groups.
It couldn’t be simpler navigating around the island too, as English is widely spoken, and all the signs are written in English. Plus, the beautiful island is easily reached by boat from Caticlan, where the main airport can be found, making travel stress-free and straightforward.
Boracay holidays: action packed adventure
If you want to take a break from sunbathing on the dazzling white beaches, there’s plenty of fun and adventure to be had on your holiday in Boracay. Soar across the water by trying your hand at one of the watersports on offer, including jet skiing, boating and more. Or, set off on a snorkelling trip to discover the underwater reefs and tropical fish that live beneath the surface. To immerse yourself even further, why not book a scuba diving trip?
At night, indulge in delicious seafood dinners at the vast selection of beachside restaurants, or spend the night partying in one of the hip beach bars. If you can handle it, hit the clubs and spend the night dancing away until the early hours of the morning.
Our favorite hotels
Boracay is peppered with plenty of luxury beachside resorts to spend your days in. Here are some of our top recommendations.
Many people call Boracay the ‘beach capital of the Philippines,’ and we don’t blame them. The bays that halo this idyllic island – which measures just four miles in length – have won awards for their stunning beauty. Once you’ve stepped onto the powder-soft sands of White Beach, no other sand will feel the same again. You’re going to adore the scenery, watersports scene and Bluewater golf complex featuring spectacular ocean views.
When you sink your toes into the sands of Puka Shell Beach - or Yapak Beach as it was originally known – you’ll notice it’s rich in crushed Puka shells. Ask a local about it and they’re bound to tell you a legend behind this treasured seashell.
You won’t regret taking the winding road up to Mount Luho, a summit reached via the Barangay (district) of Bulabog. It reaches 370ft above sea level which means one thing for you: the island views from the observation deck are incredible.
Whether you're a keen kite surfer or prefer a tranquil glass bottom boat ride, you'll find it all here. Bulabog Beach on the eastern side of the island has fairly strong winds year-round making this the ideal spot for wind and kite surfers, while White Beach on the western side of the island has plenty of adrenaline watersports such as banana boats, jet skis and parasailing.
Boracay is famous for its powdery soft sands, the most famous of which is the four kilometre stretch called White Beach. Here you will find no shortage of restaurants, beach bars, spa's, small shops and a wide variety of watersports. The beach is loosley split into 3 sections allowing you to find the perfect spot to suit your mood. If you're looking for a busy beach scene and lively evenings base yourself in Station 2. If you prefer your beaches a bit quieter yet still with restaurants and bars within walking distance Station 1 is perfect and if you want more simple accommodation head to Station 3.
Boracay comes alive on an evening, particularly around the lively Station 2 area of White Beach with its huge array of bars and restaurants. Whether you want to savour cocktails at a casual beachfront bar against a backdrop of live music, or party the night away to the latest dance music you'll find it all here. When it comes to dining, you can enjoy everything from fresh seafood buffets to fast food and traditional Filipino cafés to international restaurants.
“Head to the rooftop bar at The Lind on White Beach for a truly spectacular sunset view.”
“In the evening, head to Station Two and enjoy a cocktail at one of the lively beach bars.”
