Itinerary Breakdown

After checking in at your hotel, have the day at leisure to relax by the swimming pool as for tomorrow you will explore Muscat.

Overnight Accommodation

After breakfast meet your guide and depart on a half city tour of Muscat. First head towards the Grand Mosque, which can accommodate 20,000 worshippers. After your visit to the Grand Mosque, continue your journey to a tour of the Old Muscat. You will first drive towards Bait Al Zubair Museum; it consists of a concise collection reflecting the splendid Omani Heritage. The collection includes traditional Omani Weapons such as swords, daggers, rifles & their accessories, along with jewellery, cosmetics and costumes from various regions of Oman. Stop for a photo opportunity at the official palace of His Majesty, Sultan Qaboos, Al Alam Palace. Continue to Muttrah Souq, one of the oldest souq's in Oman and the narrow alleys of souq with mystic smell of sandalwood make a great atmosphere and a great place for souvenirs. The afternoon is spent at leisure at the hotel.

After breakfast embark on a journey inland for a drive along the black top road towards Quriyat. This large traditional fishing village is located between the lagoon and the sea. After a short photo stop continue the drive to Wadi Arbyn. Continuing the journey to Bima Sinkhole, this spectacular limestone crater with incredible blue/green water at the bottom. You will have some time here to enjoy the scenery before embarking on the journey to the white sandy beach of Fins. From the beach continue the journey to Wadi Tiwi. Here there is an old village where you can enjoy a short walk through before continuing the drive to Sur. You will check in at the hotel and will depart to arrive the Turtle reserve by 20:00.

Check out of the hotel and have breakfast, you will depart approx 08:30 to continue on the adventure, today you will have a city tour and visit the local souq and fish market. After this there will be a drive to the Wadi Bani Khalid, which is like an oasis in the desert with clear green natural spring water pools. Here you can even take a swim in the wadi. From this beautiful oasis you will drive to Wahiba Sands, a complete contrast to the Bani Khalid. There are a dunes some of which have a height of about 100 metres and are a striking orange colour. You will experience the thrills and excitement of dune driving to a Bedouin house where you will be greeted with Omani coffee and dates, and an insight to the traditional desert lifestyle.

After breakfast at the camp, depart for the black top road and drive to Nizwa, visit old traditional village, Al Mudarib, en route. Continue the drive to Bahla, which is known for its Arabian potteries. Visit the magnificent mud fort from 12th century which is listed as UNESCO world heritage site.The Bahla fort represents the typical Omani military fortress, and the area was fenced with 12km radius of fort walls.

Once you have breakfast you will drive to an old traditional souq, here you can stroll around the market and gather souvenirs, or simply take in your surroundings. Continue the walk to Nizwa fort, with its enormous round tower built in the 17th century by Imam Sultan Bin Saif Al Ya’Aruba to defend the route to the interior. Access to the top is only by means of a narrow twisting staircase barred by heavy wooden doors, studded with metal. Pass through the old village and continue the drive to Musannah for check in at hotel.

Head towards Barkha where you visit the fish and vegetable market at the beach and witness fresh catch coming in from the Arabian sea. Visit the recently restored Nakhal fort, furnished with traditional furniture, handicrafts and historic relics. The ceilings,doors and windows are decorated with beautiful carvings. The view from the roof-top is very impressive and offers a panoramic view of the surrounding landscape. After this visit drive through Nakhal Village to arrive at Al Thowarah Springs. This warm water full of minerals has been offering relief from the dry surroundings for centuries. Spend some time at Hot Springs and return to hotel, where the afternoon is at your leisure.
