Spectacular scenery

Whether you prefer breathtaking coastal views, magical Acadian forests, rolling pastures or majestic snow-tipped mountains, New England is a haven for those who love the great outdoors. Explore historic towns or romantic lodges in quaint communities dotted with picture-perfect clapboard houses. Watch the leaves turn to golden browns and reds in autumn or discover lighthouses dotted on unspoilt shorelines.

As the seasons change, the scenery becomes ever more dramatic, particularly during winter, when New England’s ski resorts become snowy playgrounds. Skiing in New England is amazing; not just because of the powdery snow, but also because of the easy access. Most ski resorts are a couple of hours from Boston. There are more than 60 alpine resorts to choose from, with many more cross-country skiing areas if you don’t like the downhill variety. Twenty of New England’s resorts are located here, including the larger resorts of Sugarbush, Stratton, and Stowe.
