Mount Batur is an active volcano located in Bali and is thought to be one of the most sacred in the region according to Hindu belief.

The first documented eruption of Mount Batur was in 1804 and it sits around 1,717m above sea level; conquerable by keen hikers in around two hours the climb is high recommended to enjoy the morning sunrise. Its stunning, natural and ominous stature makes it a popular tourist spot in Bali and is well worth the trek for the beautiful views at the top. Even if you're not a keen walker, the view from the bottom of Mount Batur is just as stunning as it shadows the Indonesian landscape with its majestic beauty.
