In the afternoon, you’ll head out for a game drive. The Etosha Pan takes centre stage, as the largest salt pan in Africa this is the park’s most distinct and dramatic feature. What was once a lake, has now dried up and left a vast void of white, alkaline clay. Only the oryx antelope dares to venture far onto the sun-baked, desolate ground. Yet, when rains abound and the pan fills up it teems with migratory birds frolicking in the nourishing waters.
