Best time to visit Namibia

Namibia has a subtropical desert climate characterised by great differences in day and night time temperatures, low rainfall and overall low humidity. Namibia is a mostly dry country, with temperatures reaching up to 40°C in January. Except for the temperature, the climate of Namibia's parks is similar to Windhoek. Further south the climate is hotter and drier.

Best times to visit

Dry season
The driest season is from April to October. This is best for game viewing when daytime temperatures usually drop to around 25°C, with night-time lows of 13°C.

Wet season
The rains usally arrive on December and last until March.
