Best experience EVER with a hotel

Encinitas, California

The minute you step inside the Riad Kniza you are greeted the most gracious and competent staff. The second minute you immediately feel the calm and beauty of a true oasis within the busy Medina. It's location is perfect, right off the bustling markets but also close to taxi and transport stops. The restaurant is fantastic, as well as, all food service. Be sure to visit the Kniza museum and shop across the way. The best quality products with fixed prices. Above all, the staff is the very best I have ever experienced in any luxury hotel.

Haven of tranquillity within the medina

Sussex, UK

This beautiful riad is arranged around two courtyards, steps from the hectic streets of the medina, but a world away in atmosphere. Comfortable bedrooms have all you need, but the clunky external and internal doors take a bit of getting used to. Dinner is served in a ground floor room where everyone seemed compelled to whisper, regardless of a local musician playing in the hallway. On the vast set menu you get all three ‘starters’, but you can choose individual courses at a price reduction. You’re encouraged to decide during the afternoon, so tagines can be prepared in good time. We took breakfast (another large meal) on the rooftop terrace, with a view of the distant mountains in the chilly early morning sun. Service was very efficient, but rather formal in the way you might expect in a larger hotel, even though the riad has just eleven rooms. Everyone spoke excellent English. We were very glad we arranged a personalised tour of the medina through our travel agent as we would have got hopelessly lost otherwise. Google Maps will get you to the Jardins Majorelle which aren’t far from the riad. It’s well worth spending a few minutes in the hotel’s own museum.
