Solid Trip to Secrets

Charleston, WV

Arrival in Cancun was smooth and easy. USA transfers were directly outside of the airport doors and ready to take us on a private transport to our hotel. Our hotel staff upon check in was magnificent they allowed us to look at rooms and decide if we wanted to pay for upgrade or not, which was a nice touch. The staff at the resort was very accommodating and professional during our entire stay. Karen and Roger at Baracuda and our pool concierge did his best to assure we had our chairs setup each day! All good was excellent. The room service takes about 30 minutes and was equally as good! The maid service in the room lacked somewhat... but we did keep the do not disturb on the door quite often. Overall - it was a great stay! We stayed for 5 nights and was ready to leave. I wouldn’t recommend for more than 4 nights, unless you plan to visit the resorts in the area to check out their nightlife.

Great experience

New Braunfels, Texas

This was our 1st time at a secrets, ADULTS ONLY all inclusive. We went for a birthday celebration. 6 nights 5 days. I read already about the sea weed, so I was expecting that. Our friends have been there before and enjoyed it. We got a swim out pool room, room 4110. Room was quiet at night and we could see ocean from our porch. Also not many people use that pool. Food at restaurants was delicious. French was my favorite with runner up the sushi, which is inside the Hitachi restaurant. The activity staff was great. Alfonzo, Abby, Charlie, Gustov, Mariana and Dylan. They even remembered our names by the 2nd day. Evening entertainment was average but with everyone participating made it much better. The staff was very friendly and everyone said hi. The seaweed at the ocean is nothing they can do about. You still can go lay out on the beach and get into the water. We took the small catermameran out and it was fun and once you pass a certain point the water is clear. We took a tour down to playa De carman and they also have a sea weed issue there The only 2 complaints about our room was not having more privacy for the toilet room. The door was etched glass and the lighting wasn't bright. I never felt the indoors had good A/C. You can do trips to downtown Cancun and there are excursions you can do A garden view room would even be nice. I can't say enough about how good the food was. If you get credits from a website you booked thru, it is an attempt for you to do a timeshare visit, thru VIP. Daniel was our guy and he was wonderful. We did it and enjoyed looking at the other properties secrets has to offer. Even though it rained 2 days on us we ended up meeting another couple and we all ended up having dinner and hanging out the rest of the time. Which may not have happened if it didn't rain. I would definitely go to another Secrets again. I'm not one to go to the same place twice. But we met quite a few that have been to this resort multiple times. They have in the rooms hairdryer, tooth paste, toothbrush, shampoo, body wash, lotion, a safe, a hanging line in the shower, fridge. We had a Jacuzzi tub which we didn't use. They do have locals come set up at night to sell local crafts. Definitely book your transportation to and from airport before getting there. We forgot but used super shuttle. Cost us $150 round trip
