Great Resort, Amazing People

Los Angeles, United States

This was our second vacation at Dreams here. For our group of 9 vegetarian people, Chef Cesar went beyond our expectations and prepared delicious special vegetarian meals just for us. The Chef made our trip so enjoyable. The entire buffet staff is excellent. Great service from Estefania and Yadira. The rooms are great, Jacuzzi in the balcony with a tropical view is excellent. However, the specialty restaurants (Mexican & Italian) have a great food but service is much less than desired. The orders were messed up. That restaurant staff needs extensive training. The buffet staff makes up for the shortcoming of the specialty restaurant servers.

A very family friendly resort

Whitby, Canada

My husband and I stayed for a week via WestJet Vacations. WestJet staff were great and we actually arrived early. Our transfer from the airport to the resort was seamless both arriving and departing. At the resort, we did not appreciate the sales tactics in order to obtain more credits for spa, etc. We upgraded to the Preferred Club and our accommodations were fabulous and the amenities as well. We did not see a separate beach area for Preferred Club guests and there is no in-room bar per say, just a couple of mini bottles of Johnny Walker Red and Bacardi Rum. The Concierge service on our floor (7) would mix you a drink at your request and provided a limited breakfast selection and snacks throughout the day. We found the food and restaurant choices somewhat disappointing. While you do not need to make reservations for dinner, some of the restaurants would close on alternate days. The Mexican restaurant, IL PATIO was very disappointing insofar as the menu was far from traditional Mexican cuisine. The drinks at the bars are also disappointing as they use lower quality liquor. If you wanted a premium liquor, you had to pay extra. The Pina Coladas, etc. were not good and separated quite quickly after getting them. On a positive note, the staff more than make up for any shortfalls this property has and if you have small children you are at the right place. The beach is beautiful and kept well and if you are a turtle lover. If you are lucky, an early morning walk just before or at sunrise and you will see turtles laying eggs and baby turtles hatching! If you like to shop, Sayulita Village is worth the 45 minute cab ride. Our driver even waited for us to take us back to the resort!
