Aztec History Comes To Life

We love talking holidays and we're here to help. If you'd like our advice on how to create an amazing Yucatan Peninsula holiday, just give our Destination Specialists a call.

The Mayan civilisation was one of the most dominant societies of the Mesoamerica era. Before the Spanish conquered in the 16th Century, the Mayans were centered predominantly in the Yucatan Peninsula, Tabasco, Chiapas and spreading down to modern day Belize and Guatemala. The Mayans excelled in agriculture, calendar-making, maths and pottery. These stone cities were abandoned in approximately 900 A.D.leaving behind a legacy and an impressive array of architecture and artwork that still stands today. The Dreams Yucatan tour showcases the mystical rituals of the Mayans, visiting the stone ruins and uncovering the history behind them. You will also stay in traditional haciendas (which is the Spanish word for estate), many were former plantations or factories which are now modern day authentic places to stay.
