Great Destination, Great Stay

Chicago, Illinois

Stayed at the Zoetry Hotel, Isla Mujeres for one week in late December/early January 2018. Loved the destination (island). Although the hotel is all-inclusive and has two wonderful restaurants that provide sufficient variety of fare to dine there for all meals, every day, we ventured off-property daily. The island is completely safe in all parts we visited, and travel by taxi, bicycle, or golf cart is easy. So many restaurants: from Cuban (there are at least three of them with incredible live music daily), to Mexican, to American pub fare, to Italian, etc. Playa Norte is a world-renowned beach, but we found it a bit too active/noisy (fun for a visit or two, but maybe not for a daily destination). We were very grateful to have a serene and beautiful beach at our hotel. Never had to fight for beach or pool chairs. Food at the hotel's two restaurants was outstanding (favorites included some of the freshest fish dishes we have had); so much so that people frequently ferry across from Cancun to eat at the hotel's restaurants (though not to an extent that overcrowds the venues, and the hotel staff always gave seating priority to hotel guests). The hotel is quaint, and has a limited number of rooms with adequate facilities. The hotel may be small by Cancun-area standards, but one would never know based on the number of staff on hand at all times. Whenever we needed anything, someone was immediately available and cheerfully accommodating. We were very grateful for the wonderful staff, and though we cannot name them all here, would like to extend our gratitude to them all, and especially Jose and Alexander at the desk, Juarez and Juan Carlos at the beach and pool, the restaurant servers, and Ricardo the events coordinator. All rooms appeared to have a panoramic ocean view and view of Cancun. Rooms were large and comfortable. Transit to and from the airport as arranged by the hotel was flawless, with a beautiful boat chartered by the hotel to ferry guests from Cancun directly to the hotel (weather permitting). Overall, a great value and highly memorable experience.

Mi Casa Su Casa

Darien,Connecticut

I have reviewed the hotel on multiple occasions before. It continues to meet our expectations. Small, quiet, luxury hotel. Wonderful food and service. Because I am so familiar with the hotel I would like to give first timers some tips. Know you are on an Island in Mexico. This is not Cancun, no glitz and glam. Just quiet good taste and immaculately clean. The hotel is a distance from Centro (which we like). If you want to see the Island, rent a golf cart. The desk can arrange this.Parking outside the hotel is very safe and secure. Sometimes the harbor master closes the port. During these times the Sunset cruise and private transport to the Island will be cancelled. If this happens an employee will meet you or take you to the ferry and escort you thru the process. This happened to us for the first time upon departure. No big deal and when I saw the water from the ferry I was glad someone had the sense to keep us safe. Pack light. The laundry is fabulous and fast. Smells great, folded or on hangers. LeMetisage has the dinner menu available around 5pm. It changes daily, so check that it is to your liking before going. Be adventurous, have eaten things I wouldn’t dream of having in the USA. If you have dietary restrictions let them know. Check with Richardo each day to see what activities are available, or read the paper that is left in your room each night. Use the paddle boards and kayaks. English speaking stations on the TV are 63 and 98. You may want to bring a “power strip” if you have a lot of electronics. Free long distance phone calls are easy from the room. Talk to the staff. They are friendly and helpful. If you don’t see it ask, they will do anything within reason to fill your request. Tips are appreciated, but do not reflect the level of service. Some things to do that will help every guest have an enjoyable time. Don’t sit in the lobby, Cozy bar or Casa Rolandi in a wet bathing suit. And please don’t get loud and drunk in the Thalasso pool, especially at sunset. Also there are bathrooms down the stairs beside LeMetisage if you are using the back decks, no need to walk across the main pool to the lobby bathrooms. And lastly, if you are not interested in the vacation club or the free resort credits for listening to the presentation, just say no. We will always stay at Zoëtry Villa Rolandi. It is our home in Mexico. Isla Mujeres and it’s people are wonderful.
