The One & Only Palmilla is in a class of its own. I’ve stayed at many five star resorts and they cannot even compare to the Palmilla. The customer service is unparalleled, every staff member goes above and beyond to make your stay unforgettable. There is such attention to detail throughout the resort and it is immaculate. I am a clean freak so I notice things of that sort.
I consider myself a massage regular and I had the best massage I have ever had here. Nudea (sp?) was my massage therapist-book her if you get a treatment! I had another massage from Guillermo which was also terrific.
Our butler Margarita was by far the sweetest, most genuine woman. Every interaction with her was fabulous, she anticipated any possible thing we might need. Always had a smile on her face and was just lovely. Edmond was our day butler and he was excellent as well.
The food at every restaurant is amazing. Though not a foodie, I could not believe the quality of the food at every meal and how delicious it was!
The views are breathtaking, the grounds so immaculate and the vibe so romantic at night. We originally came here for our honeymoon and came back for our 10 year wedding anniversary. My only regret was waiting 10 years to return. We will not make that mistake again. Every person needs to experience this place at least once in their life. It’s worth every single penny.

Gender Party Revel at One and Only Palmillas.

We came here to celebrate our 5 year anniversary and to reveal the gender of our first baby.
Thanks to Jimena Pontón every single detail was perfect.
She organized a dinner party at the beach, every dish was mouthwatering, she had arranged a special dessert made, a chocolate sphere which was melted by poring some warm chocolate traveling inside a cake with a tiny bear holding a sign that read “it’s a boy”. Also she made a giant box where she hid blue balloons.
A dream come true.
The hotel is wonderful, the staff is extra nice, though the service not as expected at all times, my husband had to go to the bar a couple of times to order drinks... and our room wasn’t made although we pushed the “makeup room” button, this is not the kind of hotel you expect that from.
Also, don’t order room service, the portions are very poor, a $50.00 dollar salad should have more than a couple of lettuce and croutons...
Our butler was very helpful and kind, his name is Lorenzo, he made our stay very enjoyable.
IMPORTANT. They have hammocks at the pool area with an amazing view of the ocean, please don’t be tempted to get on them, they are very low and you will hit the ground, I had a very bad tail bone injury. (Four months pregnant)
They have a really cool area for kids and a lot of fun activities.
Our room was amazing!! Ask for the 2314 spectacular view.
A must at the Agua Restaurant is the tres leches cake please don’t miss it, by far the most delicious dessert ever!
In general, the food is very good, they have good variety.

Amazing Honeymoon!
My husband and I recently got married in June at Banyan Tree Mayakoba and it was amazing. Based off of our experience and service at Banyan we expected nothing less when coming to One and Only Palmilla, and we received an INCREDIBLE experience here.
We arrived to the resort and greeted by several employees who handed us cold towels and fresh fruit ice-pops : ) They escorted us to our room, which was impeccable and designed with taste. It had a luxury feeling but still maintained Mexican roots. They even had tequila waiting in our room upon arrival.
The pools were clean and beautiful, service was 5 star. Employees stop what they're doing when you walk by to put their hand over their heart. Food was incredible and very fresh.
My only downside - which really isn't a downside is the value for food. We're from New York and are used to paying $30/40/pp when going out. However when pasta costs $75/pp, it's kind of ridiculous. Just be prepared for $20 cocktails, and $50 shrimp cocktail, etc.. On the positive side, the service made up for the cost of the food. Every waiter was so attentive, friendly, and accomodating. The only other slight downside were some of the people - some of the restaurants got a little uptight if you know what I mean..
Other than that it's a wonderful resort and I would highly recommend it.

A Beautiful Experience

We have stayed all over the world in what are considered 5 star hotels. In fact, we have also stayed at another O&O property- which was wonderful.
But the O&O Palmilla truly is a “6 star experience” in terms of excellent service, accommodation and amenities from the moment you are greeted until you are bid farewell. Our amazing, kind and friendly butlers Carlos and Zujey noticed every detail and checked in every day to make sure we were happy. For example, one day Zujey noticed my son was a little red from the sun; that night we had fresh aloe waiting in our room to apply. :)
In-room dining for breakfast was a delight; taking the opportunity to watch the sun rise together while enjoying coffee and waffles from our patio was very relaxing. Eating breakfast at Aqua with its sweeping views of the sea was also quite beautiful. We will echo some of the other reviews here and say that while our breakfast and poolside dining experiences were excellent, we were quite offput by our first dinner experience at Aqua; both in menu choices and then in food quality. The prices are extremely high and in our opinion, the food quality was really sub-par considering the price. Given that we chose not to try Seared, whose prices were even higher...but we did take a chance on Suviche, the sushi restaurant. There we found the price point reasonable, and the service was excellent as was the food. The rest of our dinners we ate off-site (would highly recommend Flora Farms.)
My very active 7 year old had a blast with all of the activities the kids club had to offer; golf and tennis clinics are offered on staggered days - it’s quite an adventure so be sure to sign up. It also gave him the opportunity to make new friends to play with pool and beachside. On Wednesday’s the club offers a “movie nights” and stays open a little later so the adults can have some fun too. The staff at the kids club is warm and caring - My son couldn’t wait to return.
While he enjoyed the kids club we would take advantage of the adult pool, with its excellent view of the surf and sea, poolside foot massages, great poolside menu, swim-up bar and “surprise” treats, ranging from popsicles to sunglass cleaning.
The kids pool offers different features and views from the adult pool which is nice to have variety; the views and pool service are still spectacular- but the pool is relatively shallow all the way across and no matter where you sit you can keep an eye on your child. If your child is a competent swimmer you can actually relax!There’s a very shallow “splash zone” for toddlers and at the top there’s a ping pong table lest the kiddos want to get out of the water and take a break. Many many hours were happily spent here. :)
The beach offers a third “fun zone” for families - all the amenities are free and there are “first come first serve” beach cabanas to relax in. Try to score one- they are heavenly! The Surf was a little choppy but even so we were able to snorkel and see a lot of tropical fish, go ocean kayaking and go on a “crab hunt”. No crabs were actually hunted:)
My spa experience was unparalleled - one of the best massages I have ever received in a tranquil villa on the spas grounds. Don’t forget to give yourself ample time to enjoy the plunge pools before or after a treatment - definitely a highlight.
The grounds are beautiful, the rooms are well maintained and stocked. Obviously I could go on and on.
I’ll end with the one thing that made our stay truly 6 star: by complimenting the entire staff and GM of the O&OP for truly understanding hospitality. Thank you so much for making my birthday so special. We felt the warmth from every single member of the staff every day and we can’t wait to return.
