Two nights stay

County Durham England

We stayed at Merrill Farm for two nights during a tour of New England. The hotel was very quiet when we arrived and we were checked in quickly. Our room was basic but very large and clean with two large comfortable beds. We ate breakfast at the hotel both mornings, and this was more than adequate to keep us going throughout the day. There was always a supply of coffee and occasional cookies near reception. The hotel restaurant and bar was closed while we were there as it was out of season, and it was necessary to drive a short distance to the nearest restaurants.

Staying for a wedding

I called to book a room and was told they were all sold out except one room which could only be booked for two days. So we figured we'd make a weekend out of it. The room smelled like cigarettes, there were flies in it, dead bugs in the window in the bathroom there was a towel hanging from the curtain rod next to the bed from the previous guests. We stayed the first night, but I got sick from the smell. When we checked out at 7am the girl said, "do you want us to give you a BETTER ROOM" What!!!! First of all I was told there weren't any other rooms - and why are all your room the BETTER ROOM. The owner emailed me later that day said he inspected the room and it was fine? Really - no
