You'll begin your journey in the north of the Island where you'll have the chance to visit fascinating landmarks from the historic Cap Malheureux to the world-famous collection of indigenous and exotic plants at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Garden (also know as Pamplemousses Botanical Garden), the oldest botanical garden in the Southern Hemisphere. You'll also see the country's capital city, Port Louis and have a chance to take part in some authentic experiences from cooking a typical Creole lunch to touring the rum distillery at Château de Labourdonnais.

In the south, travel through the picturesque sugar cane fields and pineapple plantations of Chamarel, learn about the historic salt-making process in Tamarin and visit the phenomenon of the Seven Coloured Earth with the unique colour formations unlike anywhere else on earth. You'll even get to visit the fragrant tea-fields in the village of Bois-Chéri for a guided tour of the historic tea factory where you'll learn all about the world's favourite beverage.

Upon your arrival in Mauritius, you’ll be met at the airport by your private driver and taken in comfort to your first hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to relax and recharge before beginning your Mauritian discovery.

Your first two nights will be spent at 20 Degreed Sud  a Relais & Chateaux hotel located North West coast of the island at Grand Baie. Small and boutique, 20 Degrees Sud is one of Mauritius’ best kept secrets, from its gourmet cuisine, wide range of treatments in the 20 Degrés Secret Spa and even a dinner cruise to help you relax and unwind after your busy days.

Begin your first day exploration with a visit to the small fishing community of Cap Malheureux (meaning "Cape of Bad Luck") where you'll see its famous red-roofed church and learn about its fascinating history before moving on to Chateau de Labourdonnais. The privately owned Victorian estate was founded in 1774 and is surrounded by picturesque gardens and orchards, whose fruit today is made into the estate's Labourdonnais product range, as well as a working rum distillery. Today's lunch will be at L’Aventure du Sucre, a Sugar Factory with an interesting museum which retells the history of sugar trading.

This afternoon, take a walk through Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Garden (more commonly known as Pamplemousses Botanical Garden), the oldest botanical garden in the Southern Hemisphere and known by botanists from around the world for the large collection of indigenous and exotic plants that grow there, including the giant Victoria Amazonica water lilies and the numerous species of palm trees.

After breakfast, depart from your hotel and proceed to Port Louis, the capital city and the country's economic, cultural and political centre. Drive along Place d’Armes, and take in the Saint Louis Cathedral, the Supreme Court, the Municipal Theatre and the Government House before stopping at “La Citadelle” an ancient fort where you will enjoy a panoramic view of the Champ de Mars racecourse and the City below.

Today you'll get to experience a typical Mauritian lunch – served at “Escale Créole”, a local family table in nearby Moka with an incredible family atmosphere. You'll be included in the cooking process and will learn of recipes, traditions and ingredients that have been passed down through generations.

The next two nights, you will stay at Lakaz Chamarel, a luxury Eco-Lodge located in the mountains near Chamarel surrounded by the natural park of the Black River gorges, a protected natural heritage site. Small and boutique, Lakaz Chamarel is managed like a Guesthouse but with the full service of a luxury five star hotel from its tailor made cuisine, relaxing spa massages and panoramic views - you can even watch the evening sunset with a cocktail by your own private pool.

Head out today and discover the very best that Southern Mauritius has to offer. Start with a drive through the sugar cane fields and pineapple plantations before arriving at Chamarel,  where you will visit the natural phenomenon of the 'Seven Coloured Earth' a small area of sand dunes comprising of seven distinct colours (approximately red, brown, violet, green, blue, purple and yellow) formed by the volcanic activity and the island's unique tropical weather conditions.

Leaving Chamarel behind, next you'll travel through tea fields to the village of Bois-Chéri for a guided tour of its tea factory, filled with thousand and one secrets of creating the perfect tea as well as a fascinating museum chronicling the history of the world's favourite beverage. Next, enjoy lunch at “Le Domaine de St-Aubin” a picturesque plantation house dating back to 1819, lunch will be served in the house's Creole dining room, prepared using the fresh produce found on the estate. After lunch, take a tour of the estate's Anthurium & Vanilla plantation and greenhouse.
