Mauritius Beaches

The soft sand and clear, calm waters of Blue Bay are perfect for swimming. Flic en Flac’s beach on the western coast is the longest beach of Mauritius and is well worth a visit during your stay. This natural beach is sprinkled with sea urchin, coral and seashells and is home to a beautiful turquoise blue lagoon offering calm swimming waters. The east coast beach of Belle Mare is often voted the finest on the island. Grassy areas with tall palms for shade line the white sand and turquoise calm waters.

The tiny island of IÎe Sancho is located between Bel Ombre and St. Felix on the south of Mauritius, offering a remote strip of sand and shallow seas. For surfing beaches, head to Riviere des Gallet where the strong current makes it the perfect spot for a surfing competition spot every November and December or, head north along the west coast to the sweeping bay of Tamarin.
