Veranda Paul and Virginie

The perfect romantic hideaway

This charming beach hotel is an invitation to a relaxing and romantic stay. It is named after the legendary young couple immortalised by French author Bernardin de St Pierre in his novel Paul & Virginie. The colonial-inspired decor reveals a peaceful haven where all rooms look out over the stunning lagoon, dotted with islands. Couples will adore the love nests, double sunbeds and hammocks and Le Saint Geran restaurant is ideal for a candlelit dinner on the water in the refined décor of a beautiful pavilion.

Honeymoon in Mauritius

Situated in the north of Mauritius makes it a great destination for your honeymoon. Adult only hotel makes the vibe tranquil and relaxing. Staff are very friendly and go above what are expected from their daily duties to make sure your holiday is one of the best ever. The food is absolutely amazing, especially the curries. The best Veranda hotel in Mauritius by far. The whole experience was great from check-in up to check-out.

Very highly recommended! Exactly what we needed!

Sandhurst, United Kingdom

My wife and I returned yesterday from 12 nights of pure bliss at Paul et Virginie. We usually trawl through reviews on Trip Advisor before choosing where to go. Firstly we always go adults-only and the reviews sold this place to us. I really don't understand how negative reviews can be left? We were blown away and suffering from post-holiday blues in a big way. So I'll break it down for anyone who bothers to read... - Service Staff were simply great, from the moment we arrived. Everyone we met was friendly and would bend over backwards to please you. Front of house and bar staff in particular work very hard and long hours but always smiling. Visam kept us full of cocktails and Dany was always on hand to keep everyone entertained throughout the day and night and also arranged a 3hr fishing trip with a local fisherman for me. Both a real credit to the hotel! -Rooms We started in room 501, classic room, far end of the beach, ground floor with a view of the sea and part of the beach if you go outside and look over the bushes. A little on the small side and not entirely what I had hoped for as I had emailed ahead asking for a really good sea view. Surprisingly we were upgraded after a few nights as they simply wanted to please us. We moved to room 412 in the next block, first floor with balcony overlooking the beach. See my pic below for the view. Highly recommend getting a room above the classic rating. Much bigger room, nicely laid out, view to die for. Storage on shelves in bathroom with a bit of hanging space. Wooden shutters from the bathroom and toilet doors so a slight issue if you like to hide all your noises and aromas but just play some music or send the wife to the balcony :) Beer, juice, and coke available in mini fridge, some chocolate bars, nuts and crisps available for extra charge, topped up daily. Room cleaned and turned down at night, always kept looking nice and tidy. Plenty of plugs available, UK plugs work or 2-pin travel plugs. Towels, robes and slippers provided and hairdryer. -Grounds Beautiful views, beach cleaned of seaweed daily, beautiful clear water, warm Indian Ocean, fairly sharp underfoot so purchase some sea shoes if you spend a lot of time in and out the sea (buy in the hotel shop). All grounds tirelessly groomed by staff, very tidy and green and fresh. Already missing sitting around the infinity pool and the main pool. It's a faily small hotel so never an issue getting beds with parasol and tables. There is a bit of bed-reserving despite being asked not to but it was never an issue for us. Always somewhere to plonk be it at one of the beautiful pools or the beach. Several bars on-site to get drinks throughout the day. -All inclusive Buffet breakfast with plenty to choose from, eggs to order, fresh bread and fruits and meats. Lunch to be eaten at the a la carte restaurant or from the menu of amazing sandwiches at the main bar. Pancakes with toppings available every afternoon (look out for Pancake the dog who visits on time every day). Dinner was usually buffet style with amazing choices of different styles of food, different themes often, and occasional a la carte nights. We ate at the a la carte restaurant to celebrate our wedding anniversary and it really was delicious but no more so than the main restaurant. The food was faultless throughout our stay and you want go hungry unless you're particularly picky with food. Lots of drinks and cocktails included on the AI package and everything is listed in the menus. All inclusive package allows use of the water activities including pedalos, kayaks, stand-up paddle boards and some small boats. Brilliant fun and a good way to burn a few calories that you will put on. For excusions I recommend turning left out of the hotel and walking 1min round the corner to Sun Tropical Tours where you will find loads of excursions for a much better price than your rep will offer you! We went on 2 trips, private full day South West tour of the island and and full day speed boat island tour with snorkelling, rum and beach BBQ. Evening entertainment consisted of local musicians and dancers. Nothing too wild and certainly not a party hotel but a nice way to wind down and drink cocktails before bed. Hopefully this review will encourage plenty of bookings. We will happily go back knowing we will have an amazing time. This is one of the cheaper hotels on the island. We have travelled all over the world and spent some serious money in various hotels but from start to finish this hotel satisfied us in every way, more so than a lot of top-end hotels. Happy holidays!!
