Amazing hotel

York, United Kingdom

We have just finished our 14 night holiday at the Heritage Awali. Upon arrival, staff made us feel extremely welcome and our bags were taken to our bedroom, whilst we were shown around the hotel. The hotel was amazing. The bedroom was always clean and well presented. The minibar and toiletries were topped up everyday. The hotel itself was always clean and well maintained. The staff were extremely friendly and smiley, particular shout outs to Kevin in Zanzibar, Oliver in Infinity Blue/Savana and Shaymar (manager). Our housekeeper was extremely friendly and hard working (block 9000). We did the ‘Wild south’ tour. We would definitely recommend this trip. Our tour guide was Jimmy, who was a fountain of knowledge. I would definitely recommend bringing snorkels and beach shoes (you can buy at the hotel if needed). Go to the left of the hotel and the amount of sea life is incredible. The beach itself is sandy and clean, however there are parts which have coral. The beach boys are attentive and regularly bring drinks. One day we were given fresh pineapple on the beach - I would have liked this more often. All the meals on our holiday were amazing. We had evening meals at Savana (buffet), Infinity Blue (including the seafood taster menu), Zafarani (Indian) and Kuzini (Italian - the tiramisu was incredible). You need to prebook your evening meals at the A la carte restaurants. Lunches at Zanzibar and Infinity Blue were also of a good standard. Unfortunately we did not get the chance to do the BOMO experience, however this comes highly recommended by others. During the afternoon, the hotel also puts on pancakes and biscuits in the Zanzibar, which is popular. We were informed the C beach Club was going to be shut during our stay. Due to this closure, the Coco Shack moved nearer the hotel. The temporary bar was not a comparison to the original bar, which is so regularly photographed on Instagram. This was disappointing. Luciano the Tenrec (hedgehog) at Infinity Blue, was a legend! On an evening, entertainment consisted of singers performing in the Zanzibar. The singers were of a good standard. Entertainment stopped around 11pm and All Inclusive ended at midnight. Our holiday was in May, which is the start of the winter months in Mauritius. For the majority of the holiday, it was warm and sunny (temperature was around 27/28 degrees). The mornings were sunny, with cloud tending to come in the afternoon. The ‘adult only’ swimming pool only had sun on a morning, so the beach was popular in the afternoon. The last two days of the holiday, it rained and was very humid. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking - it’s well worth the money :)

Fantastic, Fun and Romantic

Johannesburg, South Africa

We spent our 10th wedding anniversary at Heritage Awali and we had a truly amazing time, the staff were super friendly and helpful, the restaurants are world class and you have such a wide range of activities to do. We did everything from stand up paddling in the ocean to a bike trip to Baie du Cap and the scenery was breath takingly beautiful. Cant wait to go back there!!!!
