True heaven on Earth

Celje, Slovenia

This was our best holiday so far as we received a lot more than from other destinations and to be honest it was above our expectations. The highlights of our trip were: 1/ Finding truly pristine nature with so many colors no photo can handle to bring, with so many inspiring sounds like ocean calling, wind whispering, birds singing and so diverse water life. Heaven on earth no doubt. 2/ every single member of the staff all wearing a smile though really hard-working trying to make you feel perfect. Especially will remember our waiter Ahmed aka Bond as he was really attentive and professional and a very kind person. He decorated our table with beautiful flowers twice (anniversary and farewell) and overall he cares a lot about his guests. 3/ seaplane transfer is a picturesque experience, and made the whole trip more spectacular. 4/ snorkeling with turtles and sharks in laguna is priceless. To see them in their environment was big luck for us. 5/ tasty food with cooking station during all meals and lots of variety made of quality products ( they have own garden growing some veggies and fruits, which means, you receive it fresh on plate) 6/ outside bathroom ( shower, sink and toilet). 7/ welcoming drums and clapping of staff and also general manager makes you feel really special. You are dedicated to an island host, who takes care of all your issues and Kaouther was really kind and helped us with all. She always greeted us by name which made us feel special. Our suggestions: 1/Download Kuredu application. There is so much to do on island ( if you want, if not, you can also have quite vacation) and before checking in we have planned all activities via application and we didn’t miss a thing! 2/Take Back of the house tour - it was impressive as you get to understand how much effort they are doing to run all smoothly and that we guests are happy. Also you reconsider some points in life, understanding not all we are used to is for granted. 3/Walk around the island. The best time of all our days were early mornings before breakfast when we had a walk around the island. Also during the day we walked a lot, most of the paths are in natural shadow of lush vegetation. 4/Try not to miss sunrises and sunsets, they are magnificent. I hope I was able to describe our satisfaction as hardly word can tell what we were feeling. One more thing, there are a lot of repeating guest which is just another confirmation this resort is well worth visiting. I would recommend it million times. Hope to visit again. Thank you all at Kuredu, for our special vacation.

Stunning

Soundwell, United Kingdom

Kuredu really is a beautiful island, our first trip to the Maldives was absolutely fantastic. The island is split into three resorts, we stayed in the main resort with our 9 year old and were worried there might have been a bit of snobbery based on the colour of your all inclusive band but we genuinely didn’t sense any of that at all. The staff are lovely and work tirelessly to keep the resort looking beautiful and ensuring their guests are happy. We couldn’t really fault the staff in any way, aside from maybe one or two absolutely every single one of them would smile, say hello and make us feel so welcome. We stayed in a beach bungalow, unfortunately first impressions were less than impressive but we grew to love our temporary home, more so because of its location than the room itself. We’d done our research so knew the bungalows were marketed as a more basic level of accommodation but for such a lovely (and expensive!) island I think Kuredu could invest a little more in their “budget” accommodation. It’s still a 4 star resort whichever room you choose to stay in and while our room boy Fazeel was absolutely fantastic at keeping the place spotless (and a genuinely lovely person, thankyou Fazeel) there were so many signs of tired decor (stains on the paintwork etc). It didn’t affect our holiday, we still felt like we were in paradise but I just think a bit of a tidy up could make it even more perfect. We were allocated Bonthi restaurant and loved it! The food for an AI resort was superb, the chefs were great and our waiter Nasym was so lovely and attentive. One small criticism was that they packed up the kids meal table half way through our stay because the school holidays were over. I understand less demand but they’d kept a kids table in one of the other restaurants that we weren’t allowed to dine in, just a bit odd! Bit of a disappointment to our little one who looked forward to seeing what there was every night but she always found something she liked so it wasn’t the end of the world. I think since the main resort is marketed as the family centre of the island this should be something that is always available to their younger guests, even when there are less of them! Wildlife on the island is just unreal. Bats, turtles, sharks, stingrays, crabs, herons (I think is what they were!) - we loved to see all the different species and this was one of the highlights of our holiday. Sadly, leaving paradise was utterly stressful!! I will say that I completely appreciate the seaplanes are run by TMA and are outside of the control of Kuredu however the Kuredu staff could really do with brushing up on their knowledge of how they operate. We were allocated onto the first seaplane of the day which meant we had to be out of our room by 6am to enable them to get in and check what they could still charge us for! This wasn’t a problem, our connecting flight from Male to Columbo was early so we knew we had to be off ASAP. They had clearly not appreciated how many people needed to get on the same sea plane! When it was time for boarding it was pretty obvious that they weren’t going to be able to get everyone’s luggage on the plane. I understand there are weight allowances etc but they know that each passenger will have at least one bag! Anyway, we were told by a Kuredu team member (I think his name was Joseph but apologies if I’ve got this wrong) that we had no need to worry, it happens all the time and we wouldn’t see our bags again until we got to London Heathrow. When I pointed out that we were catching two planes before we got anywhere near London and none of our bags had been checked in/tagged/security checked (reiterated by the other 10 guests that were starting to panic) so how on earth would anyone know where they had to go he looked at me, smiled and pretty much told us all to calm down! When we arrived in Male sans luggage we had to wait another hour for the next sea plane to arrive (so our early departure was a bit pointless!) which meant mass panic at the airport when we found out (along with our fellow passengers) that check in for our onward flight had closed. Thankfully we got home without incident but wow, what a stressful end to such a lovely holiday. Like I said, a lot of this is outside of Kuredu control but your staff are in charge of facilitating guests onto the seaplane and really could do with some training on how to manage a situation like this. Joseph gave us completely incorrect information about collecting our luggage, had we listened to him we would have floated off onto our next flights with no bags on the assumption that somebody at the airport would have invoked their psychic powers to get our luggage onto the correct flights. This absolutely is not a negative review, we loved Kuredu but we felt feedback on this situation might help other guests avoid a similar exit from paradise! Thankyou Maldives and Kuredu for the holiday of a lifetime, we really hope to be back one day.
