Beautiful Resort and Overwater Pool Villa but Communication needs improving

We left Kuramathi Resort and then spent 5 nights at Hurawalhi Resort.  To be honest I wasn't very happy when I first arrived at Hurawalhi Resort. The reason is because we had an issue with both Kuramathi and Hurawalhi resorts due to the lack of communication via reception staff at Kuramathi and no response via email from Hurawalhi about our seaplane transfer once we got back to Male Airport. I emailed Hurawalhi Resort several times and informed them about our details and requested information about our seaplane flights. I was told that we would find out 1 day before with details of our seaplane flight.  We even asked the reception staff to assist us at Kuramathi resort and was only told that they haven't heard from Hurawalhi but someone will meet us at the airport, no one did.  I checked my email account on the morning of our intended flight and there still was no response from Hurawalhi.  Despite which resort is at fault I blame both resorts for lack of communication as we didn't know what time our seaplane was leaving right up to the time we reached to Hurawalhi lounge at Male airport. We were told not to worry that both resorts will communicate with each other but obviously we experienced nothing but stress. It was very frustrating and I was pretty annoyed. I did make this known to the guys at the Hurawalhi counter at the airport.  We pay a lot of money to stay at these resorts and there was no need to cause so much stress especially when you are not sure if you will get from one resort to another on the same day due to limited flights. I noticed that each resort like to blame the other which is ridiculous and customer service in this regard I found very poor. Also on our arrival at Male airport after leaving Hurawalhi Resort, we didn't see anyone holding up a board with our names so we just happened to walk past this guy who had Hurawalhi on it (without our names on it) so we had no idea he was actually waiting for us and we would of just walked past him.  It just so happens we said to him "We want to go back to Hurawalhi" and he asked us what our names were.  It just so happens he was actually waiting for us and not sure if he was a staff member from Hurawalhi or another resort.  We didn't know someone was waiting for us at the airport, goes to shows again poor communication.   Hurawalhi Resort is stunning and its very expensive. We had an overwater pool villa which was beautiful and spacious but may I suggest the pillows are too soft and mushy and need improving. We loved the private pool. It was nice to get a bottle of champagne and a fruit platter and biscuits but the fruit wasn't very nice and we didn't eat much of it. I did notice quite a few people left their fruit platters outside their door. The bathroom can be slippery but glad that mats and a shower mat was provided. Our host Anif was lovely and helpful and we thank him for his advise and assistance.  We filled out the registration form prior to arriving and we informed the resort we would like some particular alcohol in the mini bar.  The alcohol we requested was not in the mini bar.  Due to the very high cost of the alcohol we did not pursue the request especially because we didn't have the all inclusive package.  Unfortunately during our stay we had a fair bit of rain but we still liked swimming.  The staff are friendly and helpful.  We had breakfast and dinner included with our room.  Breakfast buffet was great with a wide range of good quality food and fresh juices etc. Thanks to the breakfast staff for the decorated Happy Birthday message at our table for my husband's birthday and to housekeeping staff for decorating our bed and providing my husband with a beautiful birthday cake. Buffet dinners were great with once again good quality food and a good variety of choices.  We had dinner at the 5.8 underwater restaurant for my husband's birthday.  The restaurant experience was amazing. We had 7 course meal and the food was very well presented and delicious but the portions were very very small and this meal was very expensive (the most expensive meal we have ever had in our lives). I would say your paying more for the experience even though the food was lovely.  Also thank you to the restaurant staff for the small birthday dessert for my husband and for taking photos for us for a very special occasion.  The buggy drivers were great and took you wherever you want to go.  We loved the snorkelling here, plenty of schools of fish and also we loved the sharks, turtles, moray eels but didn't see a manta ray. We were keen to go on the manta ray trip but were told by staff it wasn't the right season for them and not to go. Then we spoke to Lynne and was told the opposite. Unfortunately we didn't get the chance to go on the manta ray trip.  There wasn't much entertainment at the resort but soon realised that resorts in the Maldives don't really do that like other resorts in the world.  We did love Hurawalhi Resort and its truly a beautiful resort and I would return but I must admit the issue with our seaplane flight transfers really did disappoint.  I believe this was very poor customer service on both resorts part and needs to be addressed by your management.  Hurawalhi Resort, please take this issue seriously, its not something us paying clients want to experience and want to have a stress free holiday.  I understand you only get confirmation 24 hrs before but in our case we did not hear from you at all. This reason is why I didn't rate "excellent". Hopefully I can next time?
