Have we found paradise ?

Melbourne Australia

We absolutely loved our 5 days at Pangkor Laut. The facilities are amazing and the food is superb and I will provide more details later in this review. What makes Pangkor Laut so special is the staff. It was 5 star service throughout our stay. Yes the staff were cheerful, happy to assist in every way possible and highly professional but so many went well over and above these standards. Sharm, the manager of Feast Village greeted us warmly each day and made sure that our every need was attended to promptly. Breakfast at Feast Village consisted of a large array of delicious options. Our Luxury Escapes voucher for Pangkor Laut included dinners at Feast Village, Uncle Liam’s and Fisherman’s Cove. All of the food was great but the absolute highlight was Fisherman’s Cove. My wife kept on saying “Wow”throughout each of her 3 courses and I was equally impressed with my meal. We agreed that it was the best food we had ever eaten. It was so good we went back the next night, not just for the food but also for the outstanding service we had received from our waiter Robin and Din the restaurant manager. Din takes the time to check that the food is meeting the expectations of the customers. It not only met but exceeded our expectations. Fisherman’s Cove is by no means cheap but the quality of the food justifies the cost. We had drinks and snacks at Royal Bay Beach Club most days and while this is a much more casual venue by the pool. Again the staff were wonderful. Rajneesh always met us with a warm smile and he and Razzak made sure that we were well looked after. Our Luxury Escapes package included a jungle trek with the Resort’s naturalist Aris. He is so passionate about the natural environment and was also very informative and interesting. Dian, Greeted us on arrival at Pangkor Laut and gave us a detailed summary of the resort and its facilities. She remembered me by name each time I saw her. Spa Village provides top quality facilities and massages and we could understand why it has received so many awards. I also want to acknowledge our driver Krishna. Emerald Bay is not only picturesque but also a great place to swim or relax. We simply couldn’t have been happier with our stay at the superb Pangkor Laut Resort. The General Manager, Derrick can be proud of the team of staff he has developed at Pangkor Laut. We are eagerly awaiting our return. The photos don’t lie but they cannot ever capture the essence of the staff who make Pangkor Laut so very special.

Definitely a place to visit in your lifetime!

Ipoh

It was our first trip to Pangkor Laut Resort and will definitely be more to come. It has been a great trip and we enjoyed ourselves very much. We definitely didn’t want to leave the place 😝. Service has been fantastic all along the way from the check in, attended to us by an ever-smiling Indian lady ( forgotten her name), whom we met again at the restaurant on the 19th October night, and she was nice to come by to say hello and asked how we were doing and asked us about our day, till our check out. The service crews were nice to send us off in the speed boat, and I definitely agree with one of them saying, it’s not bye-bye but it’s “ See You Again “ ☺️ Along the way, the service crew were also very friendly and attentive which really makes the place different as compared to other resorts which is commendable. Their friendliness and their caring thoughts and their attentiveness in paying attention to details truly makes YTL resort first in it’s class. A visit to their award winning spa was also lovely. Their services rendered were remarkable - they will actually go through with you on the types of massages available and narrow down which would be suitable for you. The masseur was good and the whole bath experience was definitely worth the try. The dining experiences there were also good. Feast Village for breakfast served international cuisine which gave you many options to choose from. You will be surprise to find a simple Malaysian Roti Canai there taste delicious. We tried lunch at the Chapman’s Bar and the Royal Bay Beach Club. Lunch at the Chapman’s Bar was buffet style, mostly to BBQ food which was tasty. It’s nice to enjoy the ambience of eating by the seaside. After having a sumptuous meal there, you can just walk steps away to the lazy chairs along the beach and have a relaxing day ahead, may it be reading a book by the seaside or just lying down there enjoying the breeze and the view. The beach boys there are attentive too. They will immediately get you towels and mineral waters. Of course bar drinks are available there at your cost. Lunch at the Royal Bar Beach Club, was nice too. We were given a choice of an appetiser or dessert, to come along with the main course. Their prawn and pomelo salad is definitely worth the try, unique in its own way. We had both dinners at the Uncle Lim’s Kitchen and we loved the food there. We could choose any 3 course meal and 2 desserts from their menu, served along with a bowl of rice for each person. Uncle Lim’s serves nyonya and hock chew style of cooking. Their Beef rendang and fried soft shell crab was nice. Not forgetting their auspicious fish style of cooking and Assam prawns. It has been a fantastic trip and special thanks to Evonne for taking the time to ensure our stay there has been a memorable one and of course for assisting to arrange the surprises which really awed us and certainly our day.
