Lake Tahoe's Beaches

Lake Tahoe is fringed with miles of beaches, from white sand dotted with picturesque granite coves to granite encased sandy coves. The most secluded beaches are at the south end of the lake, including Pope, Baldwin, and Kiva. Round Hill Pines Beach is a half-mile of sand offering facilities like tennis courts, a heated pool, and live music at sunset. On the eastern shore the finest sandy beach is Sand Harbor, where the fine-grained white sand and clear water are popular for scuba diving and snorkelling. Commons Beach drops right from the heart of Tahoe City through a rock staircase to a beautiful beach framed by grassy areas and playgrounds.
