tranquil and quiet

We stayed there for 5 nights last week. Poli Poli is an African saying, it means "slowly slowly"... a gentle reminder to take it easy and enjoy the simple things in life. Rooms.. Found them nice and clean and showers were hot. The turn down service was good. Beach.. the sand was white and the water blue. in the afternoons the waves were big so it was fun to body surf. make sure to visit the people selling on the beach. they are not pushy and are just trying to make $ to look after their families. we spent lots on their stuff as well got a good massage from maria. we didnt haggle much as we could have as they need the $ more then me. Food breakfast was great. lunches and dinner were good but not exceptional.. serivce service was excellent. does take them time to make food but poli poli when in Africa! getting there flew into Diani airport.. 20 min to get to resort left from mombasa.. took 2.5 hours to get there.. other on the way from the airport we stopped and bought beer and wine and snacks for the room as we were not on the all inclusive plan watch the monkeys.. they will sneak up and grab your food

Amazing place...just wow

If I could give 10 stars, I would!! Our tour operator asked us what we were looking for for our beach holiday after our 5 day safari. We said we wanted small, quiet and personal which is exactly what this place is. Beautiful surroundings. Very clean and spacious rooms with really comfortable beds. It’s so peaceful here, I haven’t slept so well in ages! No noisy bars just peaceful lounges and an excellent beach restaurant fir lunch where everything in menu is all in all inclusive. Pizzas are wonderful. The food is superb with wide choice for breakfast and themed nights for evening meals where there’s something for everyone with some food being cooked in front of you. The all inclusive package includes local beers and sprits with a wide ranging cocktails menu included with a Kenyan twist on traditional cocktails! Comfortable sun beds right on guarded beach with waiter service from the bar . The greatest asset to this place has to be the staff. So friendly and nothing is too much trouble. They all seem so happy in their work and make an effort to get to know you. If you want a peaceful relaxing holiday this is the place....there is a really clean pool with bar and spa pool, spa treatments, water sports and excursions and an ‘animation ‘ guy who arranges boules , beach football and polo matches fur anyone e feeling energetic! I don’t agree with the review saying that the beach bar should be open at night with music.... that would totally spoil the ethos of the place especially as some of the rooms are close to it! If you want peace and tranquility and friendliness, this is the place!!! We won’t be waiting another 20 years to come back to Africa that’s fur sure and Pinewood will be the place without a doubt.
