Exclusive Fly-In Safari - Elsa's Kopje

Made famous by Born Free

We love talking holidays and we're here to help. If you'd like our advice on how to create an amazing Meru holiday, just give our Destination Specialists a call.

Your exciting fly-in safari starts when you touch down at Meru National Park and take a short transfer to Elsa's Kopje.

Built into the curves of Mughwango Rock, with views over the vast and spectacular plains of Meru, Elsa's Kopje is a secluded retreat with just eight luxurious open-fronted cottages. The lodge is named after Elsa the lioness – made famous by conservationist Joy Adamson's biographical book and the subsequent film, Born Free; this was the place where Elsa liked to relax and now you can do the same.

Enjoy game drives and feast your eyes on a diversity of wildlife, from elephants and lions to caracal and an impressive 400 species of birds. Relax in the inviting infinity pool before enjoying a delicious meal under the stars.

If you want to extend your holiday then why not add on a beach stay afterwards, perhaps on the Kenyan coast or the nearby islands of Zanzibar or Pemba, off Tanzania – call and speak to one of our Destination Specialists to create your ideal safari itinerary.

Our Experts Recommend:
  • Game drives in Meru National Park
  • Enjoying impressive views over Meru from luxury open-fronted cottages
  • Cooling down in the infinity pool
  • Dining under the stars
