Loldia House

Loldia House

Located on a farm, set beside the shores of Lake Naivasha, Loldia House is an original Kenyan home, built during WW2 by the Italian Prisoner's of War. With a gentle pace of life, you'll experience the life of Kenya's early settlers, with the opportunity to relax and explore the Great Rift Valley.

With a choice of desirable accommodation, decide to stay in the old family house, furnished in the original settler style, or in one of the surrounding cottages with magnificent views across the lake and out to Mount Longonot, an extinct volcano. For families, or small groups of friends, the uniquely built Top Cottage accommodates three bedrooms and its own living room with open log fire.

Loldia House is just a two hour drive from Nairobi, and also conveniently located to the iconic Lake Nakuru National Park. Consider combining your stay with Governors Main Camp, Little Governors, or Il Moran in the Masai Mara, to complete your Kenyan adventure. Benefit from the daily flights on Governor's Aviation to ensure a convenient transfer between Loldia House and your next destination.

A wonderful relaxing place to stay

Sudbury, United Kingdom

Arrived at Loldia House after a 2hr drive from Nairobi to find peace, serenity and calmness. Being met by Heather who ran me through all I needed to know, being given the customary hot towel and refreshing fruit drink I was shown to my room. Loldia House is just what is required either at the beginning or end of a safari holiday as it is very restful. Things to do, or not, according to requirements. The lake just goes on and on, the hippos and sea eagles keep you entertained with their calls, so many birds to watch, the gardens to wander round and the infinity pool was so refreshing. The evening get together for drinks before a delicious meal with fellow guests was very enjoyable. As a solo traveller I really enjoyed feeling part of a group like this and sharing stories and experiences of places visited and still to visit. The properties run by Governors are exceptional and I can not recommend them highly enough.

Comfortable , peaceful and delightful lodge

Mullins, Barbados

Introduced by Far and Wild Travel UK , we enjoyed 4 days at Loldia relaxing , surrounded by tremendous hospitality and being led by Juma ,an expert guide. We looked across the stunning gardens to Lake Naivasha. Highlights were a dawn boat ride witnessing rich bird life , game drives by day and after dinner , a visit to Crescent Island Nature Reserve and visit to nearby Groove Flowers ( international growers of roses ) . The manager Rachel was an exemplary hostess ensuring every day was interesting and every evening was convivial . We are not customary fans of communal dining but it worked well here , supported by good food and charming service throughout by the staff team. We drove up from Nairobi which allowed us to see villages and countryside with views across the Rift Valley . There is an air strip a mile from Loldia House. Highly recommended .
