Top Tips from our Experts

This is the perfect place if you want to take in the spectacular views of the Petra Valley. By day or night, this unique location out of town is stunning. I recommend dining at the Al Matal Bedouin Tent to make your experience even more memorable. Be sure to reserve a table in advance though as it is very popular!

Great Views

Martin City, Montana

Marriott Hotel Petra We stayed at the Dead Sea, Petra and Amman Marriotts. All three were good hotels, with friendly staff. Everyone we met from the security as you enter the building, to the bellman and the check-in desk agents were very friendly and helpful. Your front desk agent Ghaith arranged to get a box lunch for us for our day in Petra, which came in handy. The room itself was satisfactory, but it needed some extra attention to be cleaned a little better. I made a request to have the refrigerator cleaned, as someone had spilled soda on the door and the inside in the morning, and when we returned it still had not been cleaned. The hotel is surrounded by wonderful views, but every window throughout the hotel was blurred with sandy dirt. It is understood that water is a sparse commodity, so perhaps another cleaner could be found so that the views can be enjoyed.

Nice hotel with lovely views

Oakland, California

I stayed here for a couple of nights during a tour of Jordan with Insight Travel. The hotel is located in the hills above Petra so the views are quite impressive. The hotel is large with good facilities, and seems to cater to tour groups. The breakfast buffet was nice and had a good variety of dishes. My only complaint is that when I checked in with my Marriott Gold number, and requested an upgraded room, I was told that my room was already upgraded. I found this a little difficult to believe. My room was fairly standard and faced the back of the hotel so the view was nothing special.
