Top Tips from our Experts

This is the perfect place if you want to take in the spectacular views of the Petra Valley. By day or night, this unique location out of town is stunning. I recommend dining at the Al Matal Bedouin Tent to make your experience even more memorable. Be sure to reserve a table in advance though as it is very popular!

Nice hotel, especially considering the location

Los Angeles, California

When you go to some of these much smaller cities, you have to readjust your expectations. For the size of the city of Petra, and considering the location, i.e., out in the middle of the desert, this hotel was very nice and comfortable. The rooms were decent, albeit small, the food was good and the staff were very friendly and eager to please. You're not going to find better than this in Petra. If you're headed there, the Marriott is a great option.

incredible experience

London, United Kingdom

The location is great. The hotel is up a hill from which you have the MOST amazing view. Incredible. You can enjoy the view in seats close to the cliff or from a restaurant balcony where you can have food or drinks. We ate twice the Bedouin dinner which I cannot recommend enough. The ambience and the food was amazing (it was a lot too, but it is part of the whole Bedouin hospitality experience); and the staff service was unmatched. They were extremely courteous and very eager to please in this restaurant. The staff is very pleasant all throughout and will ask you various times if you need anything else, so the service is faultless! Everything is clean and well prepared to receive guests. The hotel also has a delightful sand artist that will create the most unique sand images inside hand-made bottles. The best quality, nothing compared with what you see being sold outside. My recommendation would be that there could be a greater frequency of shuttles to the Petra site during the day and also a schedule for the Petra by Night spectacle (I would not recommend Petra by night at all, all the magic of the concept is completely lost when people don't stop using their camera/phone flashes and are loud) but nonetheless we were interested in a shuttle service at night and there was none being provided. This is a great option for those travellers visiting Petra. Close enough to get there quick, but the location of the hotel allows you to decompress at the end (or beginning!) of the day with the amazing views, swimming pool or the spa. All the staff is very motivated to provide the best experience for guests which makes all the difference in one's stay.
