Aqaba Holidays
With only 26km of coastline, Jordan doesn’t exactly have an abundance of seaside resorts. However, the one it does have is so beautiful, accessible, and activity filled that another resort in Jordan would pale in comparison. Aqaba is Jordan’s most southerly town, it’s located on the Red Sea and has transformed from a coastal trading town into a thriving year-round resort.
However, Aqaba is still a vital trading post, not least because it is Jordan’s only port, but thanks to a huge $10bn investment. With its stunning natural beauty, there’s no wonder as to why it’s become one of the fastest growing tourist destinations in the world. Our local guides vouch for Aqaba as a great winter sun destination; however, we vouch for it all year-round. There are so many activities that it’s impossible to get bored.
The coral reef and purpose built shipwrecks act as a thriving habitat for marine life, making scuba diving and snorkelling the top thing to do during your stay. If under water isn’t for you, then keep your head above the waves and ride them on kayaks, jet skis, banana boats, wind surfers, or paddleboards.
Most resort in Aqaba have a private beach, so if you want to relax and soak up the sun you can do so in privacy. You can choice from room only to all inclusive. We recommend going for B&B, this means you have the choice between exploring the diverse range of local restaurants and staying in for an easy dinner at the hotel.

Days Out
Jordan's only access to the sea, the Gulf of Aqaba is calm, warm, clear, and blessed with pristine coral formations and colourful marine life. With the exception of a ship-wreck or two, diving is mostly shore-based, and without the crowds of the Egypt Red Sea resorts, you will have much more space to ogle those schools of striped bannerfish.

If you aren’t planning to already, you should take an overnight trip from Aqaba to Wadi Rum and spend a night under the stars in a Bedouin Camp. It’s a really unique way to make the most of your time here.

I definitely recommend a resort on the beach front. The Kempinski Hotel has a private beach and some of the best restaurants in the town. You really can’t beat the service at this hotel, the staff really make you feel special.
