Tokyo and Kyoto Multi Centre Holiday
For the ultimate dream trip to Japan, combine the ultra-modern city sights of Tokyo with a visit to Kyoto, a quaint city teeming with history, culture and heritage.
The contemporary skyline of Tokyo changes constantly, keeping up to date with cutting edge technology and modern architecture. This fascinating metropolis was designed with one eye on the future, and as you explore the city you’ll be amazed at the sights and scenes you come across.
However, Tokyo hasn’t forgotten its past. As you discover the city in more depth, you’ll discover ancient and beautiful shrines and temples that sit among the modern buildings. Clean, slick and attractive, while Tokyo is certainly a busy city, you’re unlikely to discover litter on the pristine streets. With a huge focus on fashion and shopping, don’t forget to visit one of the many malls and centres to pick up some goodies from your city trip.
Next, you’ll travel to the historic and charming city of Kyoto by bullet train, arriving within six hours. Calming and quaint, here you’ll discover Japanese culture at its very best. Visit the city’s ancient temples, beautiful gardens, pretty Shinto shrines and traditional wooden houses and embrace the peace and tranquillity of the city.
Tokyo

In the bright, buzzing and modern metropolis of Tokyo you’ll have the chance to admire one of the slickest and most contemporary cities in the world.
Home to fresh, healthy and delicious Japanese fare, make it your mission to indulge in the local delicacies as much as you can. To start with, head to the buzzy Tsukiji Fish Market to begin your day with a fresh sushi breakfast.
Adults and children alike will adore a trip to the Tokyo Disney Resort, which is full of exciting rides and dressed up Disney characters. And for sky high panoramic views of the city, head up to the Tokyo Skytree. At 634 meters, Tokyo Skytree is the world’s tallest tower and from the top you’ll be treated to sublime views.
Simply wandering around the city on foot is an experience in itself, and you’ll pass looming contemporary buildings and ancient shrines that sit side by side with one another.
Kyoto

A stark contrast from the cutting edge architecture of Tokyo, in Kyoto you’ll be transported back in time. There are plenty of things to do in Kyoto, many of which focus on Japan’s fascinating culture.
Visit the beautiful Nara Park, where you can admire the pale pink cherry blossom trees and walk among the deer that call the park home.
Then, head to the city’s Gion Area. Kyoto’s most famous Geisha district is filled with traditional wooden buildings and architecture. And no visit to Kyoto is complete without a visit to the Kyoto Imperial Palace. The palace was home to the Japanese Imperial family until 1868, and the building has been preserved for visitors since.
For a touch of nature, a trip to the Arashiyama bamboo forest is a must. As you can imagine, the spot is home to tall, towering bamboo trees. An area of sublime natural beauty, the forest looks even more enchanting in December when the maple trees transform to a subtle hue of red.
