Sandals Royal Plantation Jamaica

My husband and I just returned from our 4th visit to SRP since 2014. Yet again, the staff outdid themselves to ensure we had another amazing vacation at SRP. This time we were blessed to have been able to spend 9 nights. From the beautiful room to the amazing food and the amazing staff, this was one of if not the best vacations we have ever had. A shout out goes to our very special butlers Olivia and Adrian. And of course to Hector and Coombs who we had such a great time with as well this last week. Olivia and Adrian made sure that we had everything we needed or wanted, even if we didn't know we needed or wanted it! What a blast playing pool with Adrian and Hector. The great re-match is on for next year! The food was awesome as always. Thanks to the beach butlers Adrian (Biggs), Daniello, and Fresh Prince (Romaine). They always take great care to ensure everyone has what they need on the beach from drinks to food from The Grill. We had a wonderful candlelight dinner on the beach for our 25th Anniversary. We did venture over to Kelly's Dockside at Ochi one night. As others have commented in the past, it was lackluster compared to the food and service at SRP. Not that it was bad but we don't plan to venture to Ochi again on future SRP visits. It's just not the same. Thanks to Junior and Shevoy at the Wobbly Peacock who caught on right quick to the "double jim beam with just a tiny splash of coke..emphasis on tiny splash!" We just can't say enough about this resort and the amazing staff! Having said all that....just a few tips for those that have never been to SRP. SRP is set up on a bluff where there are stairs no matter where you are coming from. While there is an elevator in the west wing to take you from the lowest level of rooms to the highest level of rooms, the elevator does not go all the way to the beach level. SRP is a very small and quiet resort compared to most if not all other Sandals resorts. The outdoor entertainment in the evening ends at 10pm each night and then moves indoor to the Wobbly Peacock until about midnight. (piano and karaoke). I personally don't think this is a resort for groups of more than 6. Because the resort overall is small, larger groups tend to overtake (not saying this negatively) the indoor areas, mostly the Wobbly Peacock, and even the smaller beaches would be overtaken by a larger group......having said that, SRP goes out of their way to accommodate everyone from couples up to larger groups...... SRP also does an amazing job ensuring that if you have any food allergies or special food requirements, they will notify their chef (right now the head chef is Martin) and make sure those accommodations are made as well. Thank you again to everyone at SRP for making this such a special vacation for myself and my husband. We have two more booked at SRP in 2020 and can't wait to come back home. #onelove

My husband and I just came home from our first sandals experience and I can promise it will not be our last. The location was beautiful and we loved the amazing food and beverages. However, it was the outstanding service that really made our trip the best. My husband and I are social people and so enjoyed the experience of intimate and friendly service. There was not a single encounter that we were disappointed with except that we wish we could tip all of them a ton more lol Below are just a few of the amazing workers to be looking for when visiting this island of paradise Adrienne -worked the beach bar and service His counter part-struggling to remember his name but he waited on us at the beach when Adrienne was not there and he was outstanding as well and provided “extra” service by working later for us. Zanue-waiter and bartender Keanio-(pretty sure that’s close to right spelling) he is very tall and hard to forget because we saw him the most at the terrace and bar Winston-wait staff Oliver -Wait staff Hopelyn-wait staff Devene -wait staff “up top” Jeanine-spa masseuse Stephon-snap shot -took great pics but also served us when needing other things. Pamela-entertainment and events Jermaine-entertainment and events And our awesome butlers Andre Neil This resort was amazing but it was by far the staff that made the experience so wonderful. My husband says he will only come back to this resort because he loved it so much. There were other beautiful faces that waited on us that we cannot remember names but they were all great! Rooms need updating, the rooms are old and have an issue with air conditioning. Door lock require changing my keys 6 times as lock kept failing. One of two butlers were remarkable. Had to change rooms on arrival because of musty smell in the room. Loved the concept, but would look towards a more updated version.
