A very nice resort overall

Love the feel of this resort (like a village more than a high rise hotel). Absolutely incredible food! Staff was very friendly including boat crews. Special shout out to Colleen the bartender at the swim up bar, she made us feel like family. Only negative is very firm beds and room could use some updating and lastly the non-stop beach vendors . A very secure resort with meticulously maintained grounds.

Beautiful Beach!

Manalapan, New Jersey

My wife and I just got back from a week at Couples Swept Away and we had a great time. I have been to several all inclusive resorts in the Caribbean and Mexico and this is up there as one of the most enjoyable that I've been to. Upon arriving in Jamaica there is a reception area for Couples Resorts guest where you can relax and have a beer while waiting for your transportation. We did not have to wait long at all. We arrived on a Monday and were the only couple at that time going to our resort so when we got to the hotel check in was a breeze. We were greeted with cold washcloths and Champagne and even though we arrived rather early, they had a room ready for us. We only reserved a basic room but it was fine, a little worn but functional. It was a ground floor room and not in an ideal location. It was near the main road, but we didn't really care. It was large, clean, and had a comfortable bed. It also had a nice covered patio area with seating and a ceiling fan. The bathroom was also a good size with a large walk in shower and rain head. My only complaint there was the oddly placed toilet that was so close to the wall that you almost had to sit sideways on it, lol. The a/c worked very well and the wifi was good most of the time. We had a mini fridge that was stocked with juice and beer every day. No water but 2 water bottles that you could fill from the many water stations throughout the resort. I love that they are trying to cut down on plastic waste. We don't go to a resort to stay in the room for long anyway so we don't look for luxury there. The beach is GORGEOUS, the pictures tell it all. You can walk for miles in either direction. There are many loungers on the beach but you have to get to them early or they are taken. Seating around the two pools was less in demand and really only steps from the beach. The water sports department was excellent. They run 3 snorkeling trips a day which leave right off the beach. Just sign up the day before. There are plenty of kayaks, paddle boards, and sailboats to use. I never had to wait for any. The equipment was all in good working condition. The food was very good throughout the resort and we ate at least one meal in each place. The buffets were on par with other resorts we've been to. There are a la carte options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The dinners we ate at them were very good with Feathers being exceptional in both service and food. There is something like 8 bars on the resort. You never have to go far or wait long for a drink. The bars near the restaurants have Heineken Beer on tap which was a nice surprise. I like Red Stripe and all but it's not my favorite. I was also surprised with some of the high end liquor they had such as Patron tequila and Grey Goose vodka. Make sure you check out the martini bar. The staff does serve drinks on the beach but not at the pools as far as we could tell. I couple previous reviews claimed that the staff was rude or unfriendly. We couldn't have found this less true. Almost everyone we met was super friendly and helpful or at the very least offered a smile and a pleasant greeting. We also found many of the other guests to be engaging and we enjoyed meeting many new people and conversing with them throughout our stay. One thing I will mention in closing, because it was mentioned in some earlier reviews is that the resort does seem to attract an older group of people. If you are looking for a "spring break" environment, you won't find it here. There is no loud music and contests or games at the pools. The music was tasteful, mostly Reggae, very conducive to relaxing. Don't get me wrong, there is tons of stuff to do if you want to. Overall, we had a fabulous time.
