20th Anniversary Trip

New Jersey

We were in Oceanfront Butler Room 713. Room and entire grounds are kept very clean and are beautiful. The food at the restaurants (and buffet) are really good. But what makes this place special are the people who work there. Our butlers Toni-Anne and Granville were superb at their jobs and made us feel like we were royalty. Bartenders Tanya, Jermaine, Damon, Shannon, and Nicholas made great drinks and were fun to be around. Waiter Radcliffe from Tokyo Joe's was a joy and we are glad he learned to say "Nice to meet you" in Japanese from us! Our hot stone couples massage was just what the doctor ordered but they really need someone to carry you back to the room! We cannot say enough nice things about the resort and the people - we would love to come back home to Sandals Montego Bay!

First time back since 2003 !!

Scotland

This was our first time back at MoBay since 2003 .......... and we LOVED IT !! During this time we have visited numerous other Sandals properties. On arrival, we were immediately blown away with the new general entrance and lobby area which sets the new sophisticated tone for this resort. We were allocated a top floor room in the recently renovated Palms building. The room was Club level but to be honest it doesn’t really matter about the whole ‘club level’ thing. The room had Wonderful views towards the ocean, bath tub on the balcony and a large walk in shower in the bathroom. There is a lift which takes you to the second floor. All in all, we were really pleased with the standard and location of the room. Very nice indeed. Dining options were pretty good and it has been reported that the resort will be getting a Butches Steakhouse in the near future. That will be a massive plus. We had breakfast in both Bayside and Italian (a la carte). The Italian was very nice but the options in the Bayside just seemed a bit limited in comparison with other resorts. More than adequate though. We had evening meals in the Bayside, Cucina Romana, Tokyo joes and The Cricketers and also tried The Carlyle at the Inn along with Le Jardiniere and the Royal Thai next door at the Royal Caribbean. I’m not going to break down every meal, but the food was generally very good and the transfers to the nearby Sandals resorts were totally painless in comparison with shuttling about the 3 St Lucian resorts. We usually had lunch in Stew Fish or the pizzeria which was also very good. Whilst there, went scuba diving on a number of occasions. It was great to meet up with some of the dive team from our last visit, such as Terminator, Fast car and Owen. Fantastic team who always go over and above. The staff, as in most Sandals resorts, is what makes it different. From the GM, Mr Beviere down to all the waiters, barman, gardeners and housekeepers (we had the wonderful Jennifer ), they are just fantastic, the very best. My only criticism of the resort was that as a club level guest it was nigh impossible to get a sun bed under shade. As a diver, I was regularly down on the beach by 7am but this was too late. Appreciate that the Butlers need to please their guests and reserve the best spots but when towels and a stocked cool box are left on a bed all day and not used it does rankle. During our first week there, the butlers were frequently seen to be booking sun beds before finishing their shifts at 10pm. Think that you need to take a page out of Mr Boota’s Grenada handbook and start removing towels if there is a no show. Sorry to grumble about this and it certainly didn’t tarnish our view of the resort. It’s an absolutely wonderful resort, and having done many of the resorts in the chain it lies just behind Grenada in our opinion. Thanks Sandals - we will be back !!
