Stunning hotel we will keep coming back too!

London, United Kingdom

Our first visit to Bali with our 2 year old son proved one of our favourite Asia trips since moving to the region 3 years ago. Bali is wonderful and the St Regis is nothing short of stunning. From the moment you arrive, the grounds are beautiful, staff friendly and accommodating and the hotel itself is calming and inviting. The hotel is super kid-friendly with amazing food and drink choices. The staff at breakfast were always on hand to help out and remembered our names which added a lovely personal touch. The suites are fantastic for small families and the fire dance every evening made for great entertainment before dinner. Our son has been obsessed with fire ever since 🤦🏻‍♀️ The beach is well maintained and the hotel has a fantastic pool and lagoon with great in-water dining and drinking options for the adults. We didn’t want to leave and can’t wait to return for another stay soon in this wonderful beach meets rainforest luxury, hidden away down in Nusa Dua.

The place to stay in Nusa Dua.

Chicago, Illinois

I recently stayed at the St. Regis Nusa Dua in Bali for just shy of a week in early September. I gave myself a week to let the experience settle in before I posted my review so that I write this with the benefit of proper perspective and without any emotion. Therefore, I offer the following review. If you are visiting Bali, you should stay at the St. Regis Nusa Dua. This is an outstanding resort and can accommodate any needs that you may have: relaxation, work, time with family, fine dining, fitness/wellness, romantic getaway, etc… My conclusion is based on the following: Resort Facility – The grounds are beautiful and meticulously maintained. Very easy to get around the resort (which is sizeable) and the resort is quiet. During my entire stay, I never once heard another door slam or noise from guests in adjacent rooms. Guest Rooms – Simply terrific. Spacious with plenty of amenities including a balcony, large bathrooms, walk-in closet, and good-sized living area and sleeping area. The bed was very comfortable with no lopsidedness that you find in other hotels. Amenities – Easy access to pools including a salt-water lagoon that runs through most of the resort grounds. “Buggy” rides (a.k.a golf cart rides) are available if you want to get around the resort quickly or if someone in your party isn’t mobile. Fitness Center – Very good with ample Life Fitness equipment (my favourite) for cardio and weight machines. They also have a good collection of free weight dumbells and a few barbells as well. Nice studio for stretching and they offer a class each day to with varying areas of focus (i.e. core strengthening, yoga, meditation, etc..). Spa – nice facility located adjacent to the fitness center. I had a couple massages and the therapists were excellent. They can provide deep-tissue type pressure to help you recover from a strenuous workout to a softer touch for a more relaxing experience. The spa menu is extensive with plenty of treatment options for male and female. The locker room is very good and they have a massage-walk-thru pool which features a water-jet massage for each area of the body as you progress through the pool. A cold plunge pool also is available. Beach Access – St. Regis has immediate and direct access to the Nusa Dua beach and they provide towels, drinks and food if needed. The resort is situated in the middle of the Nusa Dua beach, which is great for walking in either direction (on the beach itself or a trail). The beach is incredibly beautiful and you can engage in a variety of beach activities including paddle boarding, snorkeling, sailing, etc… Food – there are several restaurants within the resort featuring a variety of cuisines from local food to international flavors such as Western, Chinese, etc..The quality of the food is excellent (five stars!). The breakfast is ample and the food is fantastic. The Deli also is very handy for a quick meal – again with a variety of options available. While, I didn’t try the fine dining options, knowing the high-level of quality associated with the food I consumed, I think it is pretty safe to say that the restaurants are excellent. Cleanliness – This deserves its own mention because they do extensive work cleaning – both in the rooms as well as the resort at large. All the common facilities were spotless when I used them (restaurants, fitness center, spa, etc..) Staff & Service – I will admit that there might be other resorts that have comparable amenities – perhaps even in Bali. But I doubt that there are many resorts that can compete with the St. Regis on the quality of the staff and the amazing service they provide. They have a “Butler” service in which a team member looks after all your needs – dining, resort info, arrangements for day trips, spa reservations, etc..I was fortunate enough during my stay to be looked after by Tin, Ayun and Yanti and each of them were awesome. The butler handles all aspects of your day to day logistics at the resort and can be as involved in your stay as you want them to be. There is a dedicated line to the butler with a push of a button on your phone. But the great service doesn’t end there. Indeed, at every turn, the staff is incredibly helpful and accommodating no matter where you are in the resort. Everywhere I went in the resort, the staff knew my name. A special shout out to the staff in the Fitness Center who were so helpful and engaging during my stay. The staff at the beach also was terrific. In addition, Agus, who manages guest relations made a special effort to engage me at breakfast every morning and the chef provided me with a few special off-the-menu-creations (which were outstanding). I also thought it was a nice touch that the resort General Manager (Nuko) proactively introduced himself to me. Having been a GM previously myself (in a different industry), I know that it is a very nice touch when customers hear directly from the person in charge of the operation. Price – Whether or not the St. Regis is in your price range depends on your perspective. For me, this was money well spent. Also, the staff are very thorough and make sure that any costs associated with your stay are known upfront before you incur them (i.e. massage appointments, meals, etc..). I could add more detail, but the review is already very extensive. Suffice it to say this: I have traveled extensively and stayed at many nice resorts around the world, but I have never encountered the high level of service that I experienced at the St. Regis in Nusa Dua. When I go back to Bali, I am staying at the St. Regis – no doubt about it.
