The wide range of arts, crafts, cuisine, music and dance are a big reflection of the fascinating regional histories, religions and influences of the diverse ethnic groups in Indonesia. From woodcarving to pottery, painting, textiles and metal work to puppets, basket work and bead work - the possibilities are endless.

Traditional Balinese dances fall into two categories, sacred dance called Wali and entertainment dance called Bebalihan. Wali (sacred dance) is performed in ritual ceremonies. Bebalihan are performed at social events to both entertain and welcome the guests or to celebrate harvests.

Being such a melting pot of cultural attractions, Bali is a great destination to immerse yourself and have fun learn a new skill, such as batik, basket weaving or learning to dance.
