Taj Mahal

Everlasting Indian love story

One of the greatest wonders of the world, the Taj Mahal looms above the Jamuna river banks and is often thought of as the world's great gift of love.

This beautiful, white marble mausoleum was built between 1631 and 1652 by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan, in honour of his third, and favourite, wife Mumtaz Mahal. Meaning 'crown palace', the Taj Mahal is synonymous with romance and is an everlasting reminder of this spectacular Indian love story.

The stunning, magnificent architecture boasts shimmering marble domes and towers that reflect perfectly in the surrounding glistening pools. At the break of dawn, the first rays of sun hit the domed-roof creating a spectacular effect, radiating light and becoming cloaked in gold. In contrast, at sunset, the building glitters in the dusk light like a diamond; such rich beauty will leave you mesmerised no matter when you visit.
