Luxurious stay!

The leela is fantastic property and just massive! All the services are very good and 4 of us had an amazing time! Would love to come back again to relax and rejuvenate! The pool side is great but the pool side bar can be closer: like a swim up bar.

Great location, services but the food has hygiene issues + no privacy

New Delhi, India

I stayed here for 5 nights with my family to celebrate my 34th birthday. I am an avid traveller and I must say Leela has one of the best services, properties and location. I. have been to this property before and considering my last experience I came back again this time. However I did not like 2 things here: 1. Food hygiene issues- On the 2nd day of our arrival, I had kachori from breakfast buffet and after that I got diarrhoea and I was in tremendous discomfort for about 36hrs. I had not eaten anywhere else so I questioned the staff of food quality and hygiene of which they were very confident leaving me in confusion. However on the 5th day of my stay when my wife ordered some ginger tea for herself, there was a big ant in the kettle. So, the tea was served to us with a big ant in it. I showed that to the Head of F&B and to the duty manager Ashok Nair who did empathise but I doubt they took any action on it. They just used their soft words to cool me down and thats it. I also told them that I am seeing a lot of dinner dishes being repeated in the lunch buffet and vice versa which means the preparations are not fresh to which they disagreed however I am now confident that the diarrhoea that to me was because of the hotel food. The F&B head did tell me he would investigate the matter and get back to me but till not he didn't and its been 2 days now. 2. Corporate reservations- The hotel is now invaded by corporate bookings who then inturn invade the buffet areas at meal times. I thought the the kind of genre that Leela caters to is all elite who demand peace and privacy which is now not the case here. The resort is full of people, mostly middle income group so that elite thing is not there. The swimming pool was also full like a public swimming pool and my wife even saw a gentleman from one of the corporate groups spitting in the pool (which was disgusting) post which me and my family came out of the water. Due to this over crowding the staff too also remains too preoccupied to render quick and prompt services to you. Ideally the hotel should have separate meal, pool and sitting areas for huge groups but thats not the case here. Hence I seriously doubt my next visit is going to be here. Probably Leela Goa is no longer my cup of tea. Thanks RB
