Grenada Holidays
Explore unparalleled natural beauty on a holiday to Grenada. The majestic mountains and lush green rainforests are fringed by stretches of mesmerising silky white soft sandy beaches and crystal blue waters. It’s an island made for dream holidays.
Grenada’s capital, St George, is one of the prettiest ports in the Caribbean. Fringed by volcanic hills, the brightly coloured buildings overlook the turquoise waters of its horseshoe-shaped harbour. Take a wander along the Carenage, where delightful Georgian buildings with striped awning overlook the bobbing sailing boats. One of the greatest island viewpoints you’ll find on your Grenada holiday is at Fort George. Climb up to this colonial French fortress to stand above the harbour and take in the breathtaking vistas.
The Saturday morning fruit and veg market is another St George highlight. Often called the ‘Island of Spice’, you can discover Grenada’s multitude of spices on offer at this colourful market. Stalls are also piled high with yams, breadfruit, passionfruit, mangoes as well as an array of other delicious tropical fruit.
For beach lovers, just a short hop from St George, is Grenada’s finest beach, Grand Anse. It stretches for two miles and unlike other popular beaches, you can often find a quiet deserted spot on its powder soft white sand. Not to mention its beauty is picture-perfect, like stepping into a postcard. There is also an array of watersports to try here, if you want some activity to add to your relaxation.
Explore Grenada’s natural beauty
Grenada is ideal for walking holidays as hiking trails crisscross the island. Whether you meander along the shoreline or take the more adventurous route over mountainous ridges, the island is a wonderland for hikers. A great trek through the jungle-clad rainforest interior is to Seven Sisters Waterfall. Another jewel in Grenada’s crown is the Annandale Falls in Grand Etang National Park. This 30ft waterfall tumbles over rocks into a deep pool, which is ideal for a refreshing swim.
No holiday to Grenada is complete without visiting its cocoa plantations and sampling its chocolate. Belmont Estate is a 300-year-old organic plantation. Take a tour and discover how Grenada’s chocolate is made - from roasting and grinding the cocoa beans to tasting the delicious bars at the end!
Grenada is also the perfect place if you fancy a multi-centre holiday. With neighbouring islands including St Vincent and the Grenadines, Barbados and Tobago, a Caribbean island-hopping adventure awaits you. Whatever you fancy, call us today and we can help you create your dream Caribbean holiday.

The aromas of cinnamon, nutmeg and clove will stay with you once you’ve left Grenada. Famously known as the Spice Isle, this beautifully green Caribbean island awash with waterfalls, lakes and stunning beaches, has been cultivating spices for more than 100 years. You’ll relish the aromatic flavours of their cooking and a visit to the capital of Saint George’s – known for its pretty European-style buildings – is a must.

If you like a mystical tale, you’ll love the story behind Grand Etang. Legend has it that a mermaid deity, Orisha, lured men to their death in the highest crater-lake on Grenada and that this 550 metre-wide pool is actually bottomless.

"Look out for the Christ of the Deep bronze statue on the Carenage in St George. It is in memory of the lives lost in 1961 when the Italian cruise liner Bianca C sunk. The Bianca C, known as the ‘Titanic of the Caribbean’, is one of the Caribbean’s largest shipwrecks. If you are feeling adventurous, you can dive the wreck and see the sheer size and presence of Bianca C, as well as the sea turtles and tropical fish that live there."

Local cuisine
Its fertile volcanic soil, combined with year-round sunshine, means Granada is rich in fruit and vegetables. Not to mention the range of fresh seafood available. Here are a few of our favourite local dishes to try:
-
Oil Down
This hearty one-pot meal is Grenada’s national dish. It usually includes salted meat, fish, coconut milk, turmeric, breadfruit, callaloo and all sorts of vegetables. It origin dates back to the colonial era when a mixture of leftovers were given to slaves from the plantation owners.
-
Crab Back
Land crab meat is mixed with spices and then stuffed back inside the cleaned shells, before being topped with breadcrumbs and baked. The show-stopping presentation of this dish makes it the perfect option to order on a night out.
-
Cocoa Tea
Cocoa balls are made from grated cocoa with cinnamon, thyme or bay leaves; they are then mixed with sweetened milk, sugar and hot water for a deliciously indulgent hot drink.
