Wildlife sanctuaries

Goa's internal land area offers six wildlife sanctuaries preserving numerous animal species.

Away from the coast, the Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary, the smallest reserve in Goa, is set in the green foothills of the Western Ghats. This reserve features sambar, Indian bison and wild board.

Visit the onsite botanical garden, a small deer park, a rose garden and a zoo. Covered in dense forests, the Cotiago Wildlife Sanctuary is the second largest in Goa. Climb the 25 metre-high treetop watchtower to see sloth, bears, deer, wild boars, hyenas and Indian bison wandering below you.
