Colonial Villages

Connecticut is home to cute, quaint colonial villages that offer charm, character and history.

Made famous in the movies Mystic River and Mystic Pizza, the traditional New England village of Mystic is every bit as charming as you might think. For a taste of this palpable charm, head to colonial Olde Mistick Village, a recreated 18th century village that will make you feel as though you've stepped back in time.

Or, check out Mystic Seaport, a preserved 19th century village that features 60 restored historic building. Explore the village in a horse drawn carriage, or learn the celestial navigation that was used in the past at the Treworgy Planetarian.

We also recommend cruising the main street shops of Litchfield for local artefacts, or head to the quaint village of Guilford for fine restaurants and cafés.
