Great Location

Port Macquarie, Australia

We stayed for 2 nights - caught the airport express to Central and a taxi (approx $60HKD) to the hotel - easy access and great location opposite Victoria Park. I am a Accor Platinum member as thought the check in & check out was average - not helpful at all. The room was comfortable - the lounge was the only positive. Here they were helpful and accomodating and the services and staff were very good. Lots to do around the area and metro close.

Finest Hotel in Causeway Bay

Firstly, please allow me to address the current safety concern in Hong Kong. It is still SAFE to travel to Hong Kong, albeit there are on-going protests. We stayed at The Park Lane for 24 days and at no time, I felt the safety of my family (including a 10 years old child) was at risk. My family visited all the popular tourist attractions throughout Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, New Territories, Lantau Island, Ocean Park and Disneyland etc... The key is to stay tune with LIVE news. Most “day” protests are extremely peaceful while the “night” protests are more confrontational. You can get a local SIMM phone card (with unlimited data) for less than $8 usd at a 7-11. Location of hotel: I would actually rank The Park Lane as best family hotel in CWB (Causeway Bay) and area, and one of the best in Hong Kong because of its distinguished and convenient location: i) within 1 to 10 minutes of walking, there are 4 huge shopping complexes (Times Square, Hysan, Lee Garden, Windsor) where you would find many restaurants, shops, and entertainment for all ages. ii) a MTR (subway) station - Causeway Bay station is within 3 minutes of walk. A tram (trolley) station within 3 minutes of walk (to travel within Hong Kong Island only). Many bus stations and minibus stations nearby. A taxi station is also available in front of the hotel. iii) plenty of affordable and Michelin Star(s) local eateries within walking distance. i.e. Over hundreds!! Look beyond the main floor as many decent restaurants are located above ground due to the high rent structure in CWB. There are lifts (elevators) to take you to these fantastic restaurants. iv) a full size grocery store, Wellcome, next to the hotel for fruits, snacks and daily supplies. v) a park and playground for kids - Victoria Park, directly across the street from The Park Lane Hotel. There are other excellent hotel options in CWB and in Hong Kong but they are definitely less convenience for tourists who are looking to maximize their “experience” while staying in Hong Kong. Central is more of a business downtown, DT of Hong Kong and a place for luxury goods shopping. Tsim Sha Tsui (TST), located in Kowloon, is rather spread-out and could be difficult to navigate for first time visitors. CWB is actually the DT of Hong Kong Island where the locals go to relax, dine and shop. Hotel reviews: Taxi stand: Available and a priority line for hotel guests Lobby impression: Modern, clean and welcoming Concierge service: Very helpful and well manner. Doormen available. Le Club reception: Exceptional!! Hannah and Cason were so helpful during our entire stays. They were always polite, friendly and had represented the Pullman brand well. My family is very thankful to both. Kudo!! Rooms: We had a family room with 2 queen size beds (** in actual queen sizes, not double sizes - something worth noted before you book a hotel). The room was very well designed as we could hide away our 3 big suit cases and 2 carry-on rather easily. There were plenty of drawers and counter/desk spaces for our daily use. We felt ZERO congestion staying at The Park Lane for 24 days. The room had 3 universal plug-ins and multiple USB plug-ins. Bathroom size was adequate enough to fit 2 people at a time. The shower space was very comfortable and the water-flow was good. Overall, the room we had, was spacious, clean and up-to-date. Room service: Attentive, provided us with 2 bottle of water (free) and lots of room amenities, including new slippers (free) daily. The only suggestion I have is to add a recycling bin (but I understand that may take up precious space inside the room). Hotel restaurants: I used the cafe (next to the lobby) a few times and it was cozy. The buffet restaurant on level 2 was grand with plenty of selection; I was invited to visit but did not stay. The bar on the top floor of the hotel provided an excellent view of both the Harbour and Victoria Park view at the backdrop, a perfect place for pictures. Hint: pick a day with little smog :-) I highly recommend this hotel for personal, family or business travelers. Causeway Bay (CWB) is absolutely the “hot spot” to stay when visiting Hong Kong. Taxi is a very inexpensive transportation: $5 usd will get you from CWB to Wan Chai (where the conference center is), $10 usd will get you from CWB to Central, $50 usd from CWB to the airport. MTR trains have 10 commuter lines to transport you around Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, New Territories, Lan Tau Island, Ocean Park and Disneyland. Uber is illegal but available, if you are wondering. Lastly, thank you to Hannah Yiu for your friendly hospitality during my extended stay in Hong Kong (due to the temporary shutdown at the airport). Your calm demeanor and cheerfulness will always be remembered during our memorable Hong Kong visit. Thank you and take care!
