Lijiang River

We love talking holidays and we're here to help. If you'd like our advice on how to create an amazing holiday, just give our Destination Specialists a call.

The Lijiang, or Li River as it’s also known, is 52 miles in length and runs south from Guilin to Yangshuo, both in Southern China. A cruise down the Li can take as little as five hours, making it an ideal day trip for tourists visiting the surrounding areas.

The Li River is well-known for the natural diversity along its route, particularly the Karst peaks; jagged mountain-like structures that greet the boats as they meander round the Li’s twists and turns. Cruises on the Li typically begin in downtown Guilin and typically take in Elephant Trunk Hill (a rock formation shaped like an Elephant drinking form the river), Pagoda Hill and Ox Gorge as well as population centres including Daxu Town and Xingping.
