Atacama Desert

Chile's Atacama Desert is the driest desert in the world, with unique rock formations and startlingly beautiful landscapes.

The oasis town of San Pedro de Atacama is situated right in the centre of the desert, built of adobe houses and filled with markets, outdoor restaurants and charming hotels.

Head to the nearby landscapes to explore the salt flats, the crater-like Valley of the Moon - where NASA tested their lunar vehicles- Death Valley, and Dinosaur Valley. Head outside into the desert at night with a telescope and see some of the clearest night skies in the world, with the most spectacular blanket of sparkling stars cast above.
