Join your dedicated tour guide and fellow travellers in Nova Scotia’s charming capital city of Halifax, then experience the delights of Cape Breton Island together before setting sail on a ferry that will take you to the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Here, a land of discovery awaits you.

Experience the wonder of Gros Morne National Park, standing within dramatic landscapes that have been formed over many years, and discover the Tablelands, where the earth’s mantle lies exposed. Step back in time and discover pivotal places in the province’s rich history. Visit L’Anse aux Meadows, an archeological site that was home to Vikings one thousand years ago; Cape Spear, the province’s oldest surviving lighthouse; and Red Bay, the site of a Basque whaling station in the 16th century.

Drive along stunning roads and enjoy breath-taking sea views from the windows of ferries as you cross the water to see yet more of this incredible province. Take to the water on boat tours and await the magical moment you catch sight of whales, seabirds and, depending on the time of year, even huge icebergs floating by.

As your journey draws to a close in the colourful capital of Newfoundland and Labrador, St. John’s, you’ll leave this captivating province with the memory of it all firmly imprinted in your heart.

Arrive in Halifax and spend an enjoyable evening meeting your fellow travellers at a welcome reception before resting your head for your first night here.

This morning, say goodbye to Halifax and hit the road, heading through Truro and Antigonish and crossing the Canso Causeway before reaching Cape Breton Island. You’ll spend the night on the Marine Atlantic ferry, which will take us to Port-Aux-Basques, our entry into Newfoundland.

Today, you’ll get to enjoy stunning views of the Long Range Mountains, Anguille Mountains and the Atlantic Ocean as you drive through Codroy Valley. Continue through Gros Morne National Park, home to Newfoundland’s second highest peak, Gros Morne Mountain. After a day of driving through this breath-taking landscape, spend the night at the fishing community of Port au Choix.

Make your way to Labrador today, boarding a ferry at St. Barbe and crossing the Strait of Belle Island. When you arrive in Labrador, you’ll get to visit the Red Bay National Historic Site, which was home to a Basque whaling station in the 16th century, then spend the night at L’Anse au Clair.

After heading back to Newfoundland this morning, visit L’Anse aux Meadows National Historic Site. This UNESCO World Heritage site is the earliest known European settlement in North America and you’ll get to explore the exhibits of Viking artifacts and get a glimpse into the Viking lifestyle. You’ll then travel to St. Anthony, your stop for the night.

Today, you’ll get the chance to watch as majestic whales breach the water and, depending on the time of year, see gigantic floating icebergs, as you hop aboard a whale-watching boat tour (weather permitting). When you reach solid land once again, continue to Cow Head, where you’ll spend the night.

The breath-taking vistas, hiking trails and wildlife of the Gros Morne National Park await us today. You’ll get to explore this beautiful area and even take a scenic boat tour (weather permitting) that will offer an insight into the geology of the Tablelands and the villages that dot the shores, as well as giving you the chance to see whales and bald eagles. After a day of exploring, tonight will be spent back in Cow Head.

Today’s journey will take us through central Newfoundland to the town of Gander, where you can enjoy a relaxing evening.

This morning, take a scenic drive to the Twillingate Islands in the Notre Dame Bay. After a visit to the Long Point Lighthouse on North Twillingate Island, journey back to Gander to visit the North Atlantic Aviation Museum then continue on to Clarenville, your stop for the night.

Today, you’ll get to visit the Cape Bonavista Lighthouse Provincial Park and the small town of Trinity, and enjoy the views from the Trans Canada Highway and the Terra Nova National Park as you go.

St. John's, Newfoundland & Labrador

Today is all about St. John’s, North America’s oldest city and Newfoundland’s capital. Experience the city’s highlights, including the stunning vistas from atop Signal Hill and the city’s busy waterfront, on a city tour.

Your last full day in Newfoundland and Labrador will see you experiencing one of the tour’s highlights: a boat tour in the Witless Bay Ecological Reserve (weather permitting). Travel to the Bay Bulls and board the boat that will take you out into the bay to search for majestic sea birds and breath-taking views over the water. Afterwards, head back to dry land and visit the Cape Spear National Historic Site, then spend the afternoon at leisure exploring more of the beautiful city of St. John’s.

Bid farewell to this wonderful part of the country and the great friends you’ve made along the way, then take a transfer to St. John’s Airport for your flight home or onwards journey.
