Overpriced Stay in Vieux Ville

Austin, Texas

I was disappointed in this hotel. It was quite expensive, and the room assigned to me was dark and overlooked a gravel rooftop made into some kind of patio. Sometimes this happens to solo (female) travelers, who, while paying for a double room, are shunted into less desirable spaces. I hope that is not the case; on the other hand, I hope this room was not typical, although it was quiet. The decor was similar to Ikea. The cleaning staff knocked on my door before 9 am, and failed to replace bathroom items as needed. When I notified the front desk, the response was "Excellent." Really? Did you hear me? At these prices, guests like to feel a little pampered, and that was not my experience. One positive: the central location in the old part of the city.

Lovely Stay

Took a 3 day tour to Quebec City w a local group. This hotel was booked by tour co. They couldn’t have chosen a better spot! Hotel was immaculate, comfortable, and perfectly situated. Breakfasts (included) were delicious and the attached restaurant was supposedly excellent. I would happily return!
